After 25yrs this place has unfortunately closed down. It will very much be missed.

Thursday night 3 for 6 tenders special with drink is a great deal, the tenders are excellent and the sauces are hot. Good craft beer selection on tap.

So so good. Dude took the time to explain, in detail, the flavor palettes. Each pick was so delicious; chicken was perfectly cooked as well.

I've been coming to wicked chicken for years, and It is a great hangout spot. Overall, I think its best broken down into a few main items

Service: Service here is always excellent, staff are always friendly and helpful, attentive and more than happy to help in any way. This has remained true throughout the years and is very welcome

Atmosphere: As a sports bar, this place checks off all the main desires. Loads of TV screens, including a large array for a massive picture on the main wall. Plenty of seating both inside and out (the the outdoor seating is showing its age a bit and could use some spot welds) and even has some arcade games to boot. A great game night bar or hangout spot if there ever was one.

Drinks: Wicked Chicken has a great beer selection with plenty of drafts and cans cycling through. While sometimes it can be a little IPA heavy, there is a very good selection, good pours, and they are happy to provide a chilled glass with any can. They even include some frozen drinks as well as the standard soda fountain, so Wicked Chicken shines on drinks

Food: When it comes to food, I do think there is some room for improvement, and its been a bit overdue. There have long been issues with most of the breading immediately detaching, over cooked breading, and bland taste on the chicken, and a bit of an over reliance on a few sauces to compensate for this. I think some minor adjustments could go a long way to fixing it. It may be worth exploring if theres something missing in the breading process (Dry -> starch coat -> wet mixture -> breading), marinades for the chicken (buttermilk, lemon juice mixtures, etc), spices in the breading (more salt and pepper, paprika, onion powder, etc) and verifying oil temperature and cleanliness. With all that said portions for the fries and sandwiches are very good, but just missing that extra bit to make them truly solid.

Overall this place is great to enjoy a game or grab a beer with friends. Hopefully the food situation improves a bit, as then itd be an absolute mainstay of the area. I only worry that if another beer bar opens before the chicken improves, it could hurt its continued longevity.

Definitely worth a visit!

Also, I think if they added multi-day marinated turkey wings as an option, they could have a fun cheaper option that goes well with all sorts of sauces!

I have gone there 3 times specifically for the Italian beef sandwich. Being a Chicago native I had to check it out. There isn't a place to get a beef wet with Giardiniera relish in the area...so the first two times I ordered I was in absolute heaven. Beef was tender a lot of flavor and fresh giardiniera peppers. Also the sandwich came by itself no sides for $15.50 The third time I ordered I did notice a different manager and staff than I dealt with before. I was a bit bummed out because the juice was extremely salty way too salty, and I love salt...also this time they gave me fries with the sandwich for $15.50. I do not believe the menu said fries came with the sandwich. I'm gonna go back and see if I can get the perfect sandwich again.

A chicken place that can't make decent chicken. Only thing worthwhile here is the beer. It has changed hands many times over the years but the food has always tasted bland and old. That's the one thing that never changes for some reason. For this recent experience the oil used for the fries and tater tots tastes like it has never been changed. The garlic on the fries tastes like it came from an ancient jar. On top of that it's expensive. How this place keeps going and why I keep giving it a chance every 5 years is beyond my comprehension. The staff is nice and cordial but that doesn't make up for the food.
