The best service ever, the stuff is beyond great, and the food is authentic as it can be, top notch margaritas as well, fully recommended.

It's been years since I last dined in the restaurant but my family and I went two weeks ago and nothing has changed. The food is delicious and the service was great!

Good Mexican restaurant with very kitchy decor. Food was a 3 but drinks and service a 4! Frozen strawberry margarita was very good and very very cold!! We shared the steak fajitas and they were good, just nothing spectacular. I would return again, just not THE place that would come to mind for Mexican food in SCV.

The food is good, the drinks are great, and the chips and salsa are solid. The tacos have hardly any meat. It's basically a tortilla with cheese and lettuce. The prices have skyrocketed and the service was is ok. Our server was completely distracted and I can't hold this against the restaurant. There are many choices a tad better overall in the area. This gets a 3.5 (C+).

My favorite Mexican food restaurant permanently closed because of Covid, and I was devastated because they had the BEST cheese enchiladas, and I went at least once per week. It took me months to find a place that had cheese enchiladas that even came close, but here we are. This place is definitely worth the drive to get my cheese enchiladas! I am now happy again!

Like all my reviews it comes down to quality and the care put into the food and dish. Unfortunately this place has no standards and should be a pass for anyone looking for a good meal

My family and went to eat here. The customer service was great. The food was delicious ! I had the mole enchiladas, my husband had a wet burrito, and my son had the kids taco dinner. We also shared a flan ! Great customer service and great food ! Thank you to our server Paola and to everyone who kept checking in on us. Definitely coming back !

We ordered take out and found a hair in the food. After calling the restaurant several times they offered a new meal. At this point we just want our money back. We returned to get our refund as instructed by Lila, only to be told they would replace the meal but no refund.

The food and ambience is amazing my favorite is the chicken it's cooked to perfection. My kids love the French fries and steak tacos too. My wife and I always finish the chips and salsa especially the spicy one. The servers are very patient and polite and the owner is fantastic she always stops by to see how we are doing. My favorite family owned restaurant in Scv.

I love that you get two types of salsa with your chips and that they are quick to bring you more chips as soon as your basket is empty. Great food and awesome service!

Asked a local where to enjoy good Mexican food and good drinks! And she did not disappoint. From the outside the place looks very traditional.. I knew immediately we were in for something great. Plenty of parking. It was about 1pm on a Friday. Walking in I felt like I was transported. The place was so cute and felt very authentic. At first smell I was excited to be there. It smelled of Camarones A La Diabla.. I couldn't resist. I requested the bar and was sat immediately.. we were greeted by a server fairly quick Ordered 2 micheladas... I have to one of the best micheladas. Perfectly spiced. I did my research and knew already to get the albondiga soup. Luckily they had a small portion.. because I was looking forward to tasting a few different plates. What I also got was fiesta platter the chicken enchiladas and of course the Camerones a La Diabla.. first off. The soup... I have no words other than I wish the smaller portion was bigger because myyy goodness.. delicious. Everything we had was cooked to perfection. And it all came out paced but in a timely manner. Honestly have to say I will willingly head over to casa vieja from downtown area where I'm from simply because every aspect from the fantastic food to the hospitality to the environment. The team here made sure to make my experience completely enjoyable. Unfortunately I did not get our servers name but the gentleman working the bar was very warm friendly and helpful. I left 100% satisfied! Thank you Casa Vieja! See ya'll very soon!

I had chicken enchilada suiza with rice and refried beans and our guests had steak burritos with rice and refried beans. We all enjoyed our meals and the food was fresh and plentiful. Service was on point. Give it a try. Casa Vieja Grill won't disappoint.

Tried the place out on Halloween before we went trick or treating. Place was pretty dead. Got there during happy hour. Ordered a bean and cheese burrito meal for myself, tacos for our daughter, and husband ordered same thing I did, but with steak for an additional charge. Got 1 soda, a kid sized Shirley temple for my daughter and he got beer. When the food EVENTUALLY came out (there really weren't that many people there?? Place was kinda dead), my husband's burrito had like two tiny pieces of steak in a sea of beans. It took forever for one of the servers to come by after he saw us just kinda sitting there with plate to the side and asked if we were good. We mentioned the issue with the burrito and before anything else could be really done he took it away from the table. Couple minutes later our regular server showed up and we let her know the issue with the burrito and she said she'd talk to the cook (it didn't matter anymore at thar point??) And we said no its fine, we don't even want it anymore. He took one, maybe two small bites and was very disappointed since it wasn't at all what was ordered. You know what they did? They went back and forth and started getting really rude with us and only decided to charge 50% for the burrito...it was a $20 meal that was barely touched and was WRONG. Not only that, but the first bill they gave us had our entire order PLUS a "hot tea" that nobody ordered?? When we pointed out she Apologize and went back to "fix" it. Several minutes later she comes back and again, the bill has a charge for x2 kids drinks when we only ordered one the entire time, wtf!? They kept arguing and making excuses and we could even hear the manager or owner or whoever it was talking crap in Spanish (I speak and understand it) and we decided to just pay and leave. Terrible customer service! Horrible service overall! Forces customers to foot their costs! No wonder the place is dead everytime I pass by. I do not reccomend this place AT ALL!
