The dine-in area was cold. Table we sat at hadn’t been cleaned but there were no other tables available. Waited a while for our food. Good was really good. Adequate portions.

Only reason why I gave them a 3 is because of customer service! Food in great but the employees act like you’re bothering them when you go to order something or ask for something they don’t have available for you to grab on your own.

WORST FOOD POISONING OF MY LIFE!!! I ordered a birria quesadilla and ate it at home, an hour goes by and I'm running to the bathroom in pain. I spent 10 hours running back and forth to the bathroom and couldn't even go to work.
Never again will I be back

My 3rd visit so I decided to leave a review as I was very disappointed! On all three visits my service was very slow. On my 3rd visit last night, I was the only one in line to order and there were 3 people inside eating. Took 15 minutes to get my order of one carne asada burrito. I noticed my burrito had been finished and just sitting on the finish counter waiting fro the cashier to call my name while getting cold. This is exactly what I experienced on my previous two visits in where I had to ask for my order after pointing it out on the counter. When I finally sat down to eat my $15 carne asada burrito it was mostly rice & beans with very little carne "asada". To be fair Taste was just OK, not what a $15 (tax included) should taste like. Terrible service for overpriced mediocre food to say the least. Hadn't been there in about a year and I remembered why after this experience. Seemed better when it first opened however the quality has surely declined since then, too bad for the owners. Would rather go to the valley to eat some much tastier much better priced street food any day! Warning fellow Santa Claritians, much better Mexican fast food in the valley any day! Maybe good for typical gringos new to California but if you're a native regardless of race or ethnicity and know what authentic Socal Mexican food is, Guanatos is highly NOT recommended!

Great place! Guadalajara style tacos red tacos plate was excellent.
Guanatos Taco's is one of those dining places where it's very authentic and you can taste it. We love that they opened this food experience.
The red (rojo) tacos are unlike any other restaurant - two tortillas with many meat options (include birria), grilled and dipped in a delicious broth. The flavor is amazing! I'm not into spicy (they are a little spicy), but adding some sour cream makes it great. The consume broth dip is delicious, but spicy.
The Guanatos tacos entree is a family favorite, the sauce is great. The refried beans are also full of flavor.
They are a clean restaurant and have great quality food. It's one of those places that make not look very classy on the outside, but is a hidden gem.
We heard about it on an SCV food guide show where a host went behind the counter and interviewed the owner, who showed how they make the birria rojo taco specialty.

If you’re craving authentic and flavorful Mexican food, look no further than Guanatos Tacos! This gem of a restaurant offers both dine-in and drive-thru options, making it as convenient as your favorite fast-food spot but with way more flavor and soul—think of it as the Mexican McDonald's, but better in every way.
I ordered their birria tacos, and wow, was I blown away! Expecting regular corn tortilla tacos, I made the rookie mistake of ordering five. These tacos are packed with meat, so much so that I could only manage to eat three—and nothing else. Each bite was bursting with flavor, leaving me full, satisfied, and in awe.
My wife ordered the Fire Burrito with Birria, and let me tell you, she was not sharing. She loved every bite and couldn’t stop raving about how good it was. The portions are incredibly generous, and the food is ridiculously delicious. Even though we used the drive-thru, the quality and care in the food were clear.
This is one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Next time, we’ll definitely order smaller portions to try more items from their tempting menu. But be warned—the food here is so hearty and flavorful, you’ll likely get “the itis” afterward!
Thank you, Guanatos Tacos, for an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back!
