Recently went here about 4 days while strolling the downtown street. The variety of Mexican pastries were very tasty and the service was very pleasant. We ordered a Magdalena, a mil hojas pastry, a tiramisu pastry, a mosaic jello cup, a ginger bread man, a chocolate croissant, pineapple puff pastry and a mocha hot coffee. We took all this home to share with the family, and though everything was tasty we didn't eat it all. I will happily to back next time I'm in that area. The story behind the name of the bakery is touching and sad. If you get to go someday, ask about the story regarding the mural on the wall.

I would give this place Zero Stars.. They have truly gone downhill. Aside from their outrageous prices.. I continue to support them.. I love supporting a Mom and Pops family Business.. But, yesterday was the ice breaker for me!!! Went to go pick up my order... and it was nowhere to be found or made.. How do you not make an order that was placed 3 days before? And Payed in Advance?

I had ordered a cake here for the first time because of the good reviews for my daughter and called four days ahead of time. When I scheduled to pick up the cake, it still wasn't ready; they didn't even have my information on the system, so they had zero clue who I was. Not only that, when opening the box to see what the cake looked they didn't do it the way I requested; even with a picture sent to them of part of the cake, they charged me extra for dumb cherries and chocolate syrup; the cake had no cherries!! I asked her where are the cherries. She said she was going to check. Came back with “Oh yeah, we ran out.” I was upset because they had to charge me more for that, and she asked me if I wanted strawberries. I told her no! If it weren't for me informing her, I wouldn't have gotten a portion of my money back. I was so disappointed; what is the purpose of calling the head of time to place the order if you don't have the ingredients available? Besides the lousy service, the cake was sour; that's not authentic Tress Leeches cake; the cake was dry as hell. I'm still trying to grasp why SCV thinks this place is good; it's not at all!

LOVE them! Called them on Thursday with a special cake request for a Saturday pick-up and they easily accommodated my order. The cake was fluffy, tasty, and the perfect size. I will definitely order from them again!

Sooo delicious! On my first visit at this scrumptious bakery, I bought coffee, a chicken tamale and an eclair at 3pm. I’m still licking my fingers! All three items were delicious! I can’t wait for my next visit ? sadly they ran out of the churros, but I hope to try them soon.

Fantastic food and baked goods. Small location and customers struggle for seating as only 3 tables are available. If they served cafe de la olla I would come daily. Long lines are the standard here. The service is efficient and the only hold up is usually customers' indecision as to what to buy. They sell out of the good stuff early so be prepared for disappointment if you are an afternoon customer.
Stopped here while waiting for my next bus to LA (the train station is a three minute walk away) and felt so welcomed! Came in with my suitcase and ordered myself a tamale and fresh orange juice. The vibes felt like home and the staff was so welcoming. Food was delicious. Would come again :)
