Ordered through a tablet on the table. Liked that but server could have been a little more attentive

I appreciate good sushi, but ultimately I'm not really picky and I don't expect much from local restaurants. I was actually surprised at how good the sushi was here.

The sushi is great. The servers are nice. The kitchen takes 2 to 3 business days to produce food but the sushi men are quick and the fish is always fresh!

Had an appointment with mom so this is our goto in Santa Clarita, Always a pleasant hello for a greeting, seated promptly, extra care was given for my mother and her walked. So helpful! We were greeted by Janelle to serve us, what a delight. Drinks were brought promptly Janelle very helpful in our experience at Tokai Sushi. She and all the staff are wonderful keeping a nice ambiance in the restaurant.

The sushi was delicious and the price is right. 2 rolls for $20. Plus great lunch specials. We’ll definitely be returning.

Lemon Suishi roll was great. Bento box was good as well. Seating was somewhat tight.

I visited this place twice and each time I enjoyed my experience here !
Food and service never disappoint! Very welcoming atmosphere, not too noisy/crowded and the staff is super friendly and helpful.
Sushi rolls were incredibly fresh and delicious, probably one of the best rolls I’ve tried in CA. Also, highly recommend trying their Tokai sampler which is a combination of 9 appetizers, so you can try a little bit of everything. They also have amazing lunch/happy hour specials Monday through Sunday. Can’t wait to visit again to try their omakase specials!

First time coming here. I stay in this area for work for weeks at a time and my coworker told me this place is a must try. Man, he wasn’t lying. I’m definitely coming back! Service was great and the food came out super fast! The quality of the fish was phenomenal, super fresh ingredients!

We normally like this restaurant, but we had a bad experience today.

They were having a blackout issue when we walked in, but it was resolved within 3 minutes or so. We were the first customer in line today. We ordered for takeouts. Then we had trouble paying with credit card due to their system issues. The lady at the cash register kept trying, but it was not working. She asked us to pay with cash. We struggled to find cash on us, but we managed to have enough by changing the orders.

In between, a quite a few customers came in. We stood near the door and waited for our order. They were serving sushi to the customers who just arrived. A waitress told us to be patient when we asked how long more we needed to wait.

As we thought about cancelling the order after waiting there for 40 minutes, the waitress who took our order brought our order.

We took them home and realized they gave us two wrong orders out of four, and the rice was hard, tasted like they were not fully cooked. I took the rice off of the rolls and ate with the rice cooked at home. Today’s visit to Tokai Restaurant was a terrible experience over all. This is a review based on today’s visit.

I’ve been to this restaurant in the past. The service and food were much better in those visits. So maybe we were there on a bad day.

I wanted to try this place based on the really good reviews. Drove down from the antelope valley, but it was no better than the sushi near home. The rolls were not special. I liked being able to get seared salmon but it didn’t stand out to me. The lemon slices on the lemon salmon roll were not as thin as they should’ve been and the rolls were not cut evenly. I got the lunch special which was two speciality rolls for $21. I was disappointed with the experience and it wasn’t worth driving all that way for.

If you're searching for exceptional sushi, impeccable service, and a well-curated drink menu, Tokai Sushi is a must-visit. I happened to be in the area for work and decided to stop in for lunch — and I’m so glad I did.

The sushi was pristine and incredibly fresh, with perfectly portioned nigiri — not too big, not too small — just right. I paired it with a carafe of excellent hot sake, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

I sat at the sushi bar, where the chefs and staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The entire experience felt thoughtful and unhurried. If Tokai were closer to home, I’d be a regular.

Highly recommended for anyone who values quality sushi and outstanding hospitality.
