Had a large portion of pot roast with nice mashed potatoes and a light, tasty gravy. A huge serving of perfectly done seasonal vegetables accompanied the pot roast, along with a large beautiful salad beforehand. No room for the beautiful desserts!

We had a great lunch here on our way to Big Sur coast. Try the Curry Chicken stew! Really friendly staff, too!

Santa Cruz Dinner has been here for as long as I can remember, though I believe it has changed hands at least a couple of times. They offer a pretty large menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also offer several vegetarian and vegan options!.

this place claims to have great food, prices and service, that has not been my experience. They do however have the best Blueberry pancakes in the county just don't expect them to be nice to you, appreciate your business OR provide a good value.

Just like in the movies, but authentic and not manufactured. The food was delicious (Asian chicken curry) and the locals in the place made it fizz with life. Love this place.

Excellent scene for cafe food. Cool location to meet with coworkers. I had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here.

The food here is what you would expect from a diner - basic but delicious and filling. The service was a little slow, but we were there at peak hours on a Sunday afternoon, and the staff was still very friendly.

I had breakfast here in March 2019. It is in the County Building basement, so the ambiance is like a high-school cafeteria, but the folks are super friendly and my pancakes and scrambled eggs with bacon were great. The price is fantastic. Good eats at a great price!

Was recommended by Hotel staff. The waiter was rude. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was over cooked, hard and dry. Would not go back.

I really like this place. The food is decent, the prices are decent and the young man who cooks/prepares the food is SUPER friendly which seems to be rare these days so I appreciate it even more when I find it! Worth checking out if you find yourself at or near the county building!

This is the locally owned restaurant concession located in the basement level of the city/county of santa cruz admin building. It's a breakfast and lunch place aimed squarely at the employees of the courthouse complex. There is plenty of parking as this building is supplied by it's own surface lot, and there is street parking nearby. Be careful when parking street side next to the park as if you leave anything remotely steal-able visible from your car windows, the people who live in the park will helpfully remove both your car windows and whatever item was on the seat. Also when selecting a spot in the parking lot, make sure it's not reserved for county employees or some such. The parking rules are rigorously enforced in this lot. it is right by the courthouse after all. As noted this is aimed at the county/court employees but as this is a public access building anyone can come in to eat. If you live in santa cruz county you'll be in this building at some point if only for jury duty if no other reason. The seating is your typical chairs, tables and booths with handicap accessible options. There is a small selection of books in a leave one take one arrangement. The cuisine is typical asian american items with some portuguese (Linguiça sandwich) or latino (breakfast burrito) references. The pricing is fair if not more than fair-a bowl of pho, chicken chow mein w/ fried rice, pastrami and cheese sandwich, or a cobb salad will be right around six bucks. So, cheap eats, which is not easy to do in downtown Santa Cruz. Right around ten bucks will get you an entree plus a drink and a side. The food quality will be good but not great but considering the location and pricing you can't really ask for more. Items are cooked to order, thus the food may take a few minutes to get out to you, unless you get one of the grab and go items. Typical customer types will be government employees, volunteers such as poll monitors, Court Appointed Special Advocates etc. and people who are trying to eat cheaply. Only open for breakfast and lunch only unless it's an election day in which case they'll be open later for the poll workers.
