If you haven’t been here, you can’t even say you visited Santa Cruz- if you’re a local and you haven’t been here, you definitely cannot say you live in Santa Cruz- I lived in SC for 4 years and went here just about every day, man, it’s the best food in town. Green sauce, miles and miles of green sauce… hello from Sage! I miss you guys and your delicious food!

I love this place. The food is so good! The enchiladas and tortilla soup are my favorites.

Little kiosk on main drag in Santa Cruz.... delicious! Don't let the kiosk throw you. Authentic, fresh, tasty Mexican. Great spot on a nice day for people watching too.

There's magic happening inside this little kiosk. The food is delicious and fresh! The owners (?) are also super nice. Sometimes it can take a little while for the food to come out, but definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend the Tinga plate.

Some of the best food in Santa Cruz without a doubt - it keeps bringing us back. The tortilla soup is a particular highlight - I'd come here just for that! All their ingredients taste so fresh. Highly recommend.

My husband loves ordering food from here. We order the build your own taco, making sure that we have mole. Each item is an additional cost. It's easy to make it vegetarian. We have fun deciding what we want on our taco. This is a booth, not a restaurant, no bathrooms or place to wash your hands. You eat outdoors on some tables. A tip, around the corner, across from New Leaf grocery store, are public restrooms next to a garage, you can use those for free. It's worth checking out, especially if you're into mole.

Hours are stated as being from 12-6pm on Sunday. Stopped by today at 12:40 and it was closed and no one answered their phones. Saw others also walk by to dine there and they left disappointed since it was randomly closed during the business hours that they advertise. Ridiculous.

Wow!! The FLAVORS of this MOLE it's sweet and spicy but in a good way. Very impressed. Don't just walk by this hut. This hut is a power house that will give your tongue a punch of flavors. 5/5 coming back next time I'm in Santa Cruz!

Delicious mole. I'm not sure how everything else is but the mole is wonderful. I wish they would make it with dark meat, but most places use chicken breast. Oh well.

Not open! Let's Change your hours so people don't park downtown and walk to find you.

I went here on a recent trip. The food was really delicious and they had good vegan options. There are tables outside to sit under the shade. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait for our food to come out was longer than expected. I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind, but if you are in a hurry it is something to consider.

This review is not about food, but a warning for misinformation. We went on a Thursday afternoon but it was closed. Based on its website and the schedule posted on the window of the Cafe, it was supposed to be open.

Got there right when they opened and it was not busy at all. It's basically just a kiosk and I think they cook the food at home and then heat it up again there and assemble it. We ordered some tacos which start at $4 but then if you want any extras (including lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc), it's ALL EXTRA. So what starts as a $4 taco could easily double in price. And the taco was ok. I've had better tacos in SC. We also got the mole plate. The sauce was good and it was a nice portion-size but it was just mole on top of a bunch of tortillas and some beans and salad all for $15. I got a chicken gordita with red sauce. It was fine but I don't think it was great and I guess it's my bad for not adding extras because all it had was chicken, beans, and sauce. We ordered here because it seemed great due to all the reviews and the overall rating but it was a let down. Maybe I didn't order correctly but $4 for a taco and then they make you pay for every little extra which should be included is not right. Add in a underwhelming gordita and I think there are other places to get better Mexican food.

Some delicious food came out of this tiny booth! I never noticed what this booth served, i honestly thought it was just a coffee/ice-cream booth or something. We decided on a whim to eat here because there was an outdoor eating area nearby and we had our dog with us. We really were not expecting much out of this spot. The two women running the booth were very warm and welcoming, and you could tell they were hard working. They took their time perfecting orders. They had a good sized menu of Mexican dishes, fresa, mexican mochas, etc. I ordered the Frida Kahlo soup, a spicy tortilla soup that had chicken, avocado and sour cream in a tomato broth. Delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the chicken was good quality. My husband ordered the enchiladas verde and he was very impressed. My son just had a cheese quesadilla and beans and he nearly wiped his plate clean. The only downfall is that you do have to wait a few minutes to get your food, especially on a busier day, because they are making these meals fresh upon order, but it is so worth it because you get quality Mexican food. I look forward to trying more things on the menu.
