Without a doubt one of the friendliest coffee shops in the area. Staff are kind, caring, and genuinely enjoy what they're doing. Everything there is delicious, especially the banana bread and cappuccino. Before my partner and I had to move away, they came over to say goodbye and recommended a few places in the area we were moving to.

Not a good experience. There is a serving window on the patio, perfect to order and be served coffee and pastry without bringing the dog inside. There was no line inside when I was at the window, and coffee and food were being served from the window to customers waiting outside. There are many reasons for not wanting to bring your dog inside a food establishment. Barista was not friendly about taking the order outside and told me three times to just order inside. Time for a new favorite place.

If you need a spot to go work outdoors in the lovely Santa Cruz weather, and are a coffee fiend like yours truly, there's quite possibly no better place than Cat & Cloud's location on Portola.
Located at the corner of 36th and Portola, this coffee shop is nestled into a fairly small parcel of land/space — but boy, do they know how to best utilize it! There is so much outdoor seating in the lovely sun, as well as space in the converted garage and indoors for folks who want to work indoors. Additionally, I haven't even described the coffee + food offerings!
You cannot go wrong with just a plain drip coffee, but there are a lot of fancy drink options (caffeinated and not) that are available. Additionally, the shop has anywhere from 3-4 toast options, all of which are delicious, and (my favorite) MANY pastry options. Go get some vegan chocolate banana bread, a donut (C/O Dunlap's) or something savory. You cannot go wrong!
Lastly, you have to shout out the customer service. Everyone on this team — Leah, Alissa, Dusty, Diego, etc. — are all EXCELLENT at their jobs, and definitely make me smile every time I come by. Make sure not to miss out!

The place is charming and cozy, but the coffee falls short. The macchiato lacks strength, and the latte tastes more like milk with a hint of coffee. While the presentation is lovely, it feels more like a milk drink with a coffee flavor than a true coffee experience. Disappointing.

I live in Felton but have been staying at a friend's in town while they are on vacation, and I have to say this location is 10/10! Very friendly and welcoming employees, as well as great coffee & Matcha too! When I come to town, this is now my go to spot.
It's a great location to take a walk to and grab yourself a treat.
Cat & Cloud is the best!!! The entire staff was super friendly and helpful. Coffee is always so great - the balance of the roast and depth of flavor. Great assortment of pastries and food. Location has both inside and outside seating.
