Oh dear. I take no joy in the following... My wife has been over twenty times over the years, and this was my forth visit. Last time was a few years ago. This time we went on a Sunday evening, the place was nearly empty and we were seated immediately. But $27 for the salad bar? The jokes keep coming, what, you're NOT joking? But I'm confident the 99.9% still remainng when we left won't reappear the next day, right, right? Microwaved bread rolls? After my wife mentioned to the very friendly server her rolls were stale the server apologized, and appeared genuinely concerned they were stale..No problem, five minutes later she returned with warm rolls..which I bit into and deduced correctly they had been microwaved, as too I expect the first batch that had cooled, lost their moisture and dried out. Seriously? Hey, they have an 'Executive chef' So he/she must know their stuff right? Employing Chef Mic. I had the lobster ravioli to start proceedings and it was actually very nice though on reflection I wonder if that too had been in a metal box going ping before it was placed on my plate. This was followed by the NY steak which was delicious, it really was very succulent and matched well with the potato gratin and vegetables. I would like to give my take on the dessert but one wasn't offered via a menu, I wondered later if we were expected to order when ordering the starter and entree, but there was no mention by our server. Then came the bill..North of $150 but I tipped anyway because, because right? Hopefilly none of it found it's way to the management. I really don't blame the staff, I blame the take it for granted attitude and seemingly contemptuous regard for paying customers by those who employ them. A dining experience isn't just the food, it's all of it. And I'm afraid to say the Crows Nest management and owner(s) don't seem to appreciate that. And because of that we will not be returning anytime soon. Save your hard earned money and spend it elsewhere.
First time here.
Very nice place. Good food, good views, good service. Close to the harbor and beach. Our table had a great view of the lighthouse! Staff said upstairs was bar and grill area (better for adults). Indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms are a bit tight but clean. They give a free coupon for soft serve at the beach market next door to our kid with his kids menu. Parking was $2 for our time there.
We would come again if we are passing by for another coastal road trip!

I stopped here to get clam chowder and fish and chips. Given its location I had somewhat high expectations of the chowder, however it didn't have a lot of flavor, the texture was off and was probably the most I had paid for a bowl of chowder anywhere. Additionally, the fish and chips were also underwhelming. Nothing was bad, but I've paid a lot less for much better at multiple spots up and down the ca coast.

Probably one of the most expensive and worst meals we ever had. We were a party of 9 people on 10/25 and everyone's meal was terrible. I ordered the Sand Dobs that tasted disgusting and soaking in grease. Another person ordered Babyback ribs that were served luke warm on the outside and cold in the middle. That alone is probably a health code violation. 2 other people ordered fish and chips that were soaking in grease and tasteless although the french fries were good. Another person ordered the halibut that was hard and overcooked and inedible. Another person ordered the scallops that were mediocre at best and also over cooked. Another person ordered shrimp and said they were gross. Cole slaw came in small bowls without dressing on it so it was a bowl of plain chopped cabbage. The steam vegetables were served without any seasoning or butter. Nothing about the food made any kind of sense. Several of us ordered the salad bar but after almost 20 minutes no one brought our salad plates so we had to ask another waiter for them. Beers and drinks were ordered that never arrived. The waitress apologized and told us thanks for bearing with us this afternoon so obviously there was a problem. She was very sweet but either over worked or inadequate as a server. Our bill was approximately $600 and we all said a lunch at Denny's would have been better tasting. I've been to the crows nest a few years ago and the food and service was pretty good. I don't know what changed but we are avoiding this place in the future

What a disappointment! The food was just ok and terribly expensive for what it was : the salad bar with a tiny cup of chowder was $27.95 and you have to pay for the stale and uneatable bread on top ...no coffee refill, no water refill either, why this noisy place is popular is a mystery to me.
This was a major let down. You would think the high prices of thier entrees the food service would be mind blowing. Not so much. My food had no flavor. I sent it back. Everyone around us was served bread but us. The whole thing was a major let down.
Great food and people.

We’ve been going to The Crows Nest for years on special occasions and always been happy with the service and food. We went a couple of years ago for Valentines Day and it was mediocre at best. I understood because that is a crazy busy day for them. Last night we took family there from out of town because it is such a beautiful location and the food is usually good. I was so disappointed in the service and food. The waitperson was so busy she could barely get to us. The salad bar was great but then I ordered clam chowder and it was lukewarm! The waitperson never came back so I couldn’t send it back. The bread that was served was microwaved and barely edible. We had to wait to get our bill and pay. What happened to this place? I will not take a chance on it again. It makes me sad that this wonderful restaurant has gone downhill.

Beautiful location for an outdoor lunch! The upper deck was filled with sunshine and incredible views. Our server was fun and very informative, helping us make a few amazing choices. The Ahi Tuna app was incredible!

Food is mediocre but you can’t beat the location. In a sunny day you can watch folks play volleyball on the beach while you are enjoying your drinks and food.
