I hate to say it but this had to be the absolute worst carne asada burrito I’ve ever had. Packed full of bland cabbage, flavorless and grey meat. The entire thing was dry too. Depressing food, restaurant itself is in a bad area. Overall a terrible experience I will never be back.

We love eating at this place. We drive down from Felton to eat here all the time. They have super good carnitas and taco salad and basically everything. Plus the artwork on the walls is super cool and it’s been a family owned local business

I'm sitting here, years later and 1000 miles away, still wishing I could find a restaurant like this anywhere across the thousands of miles I have traveled this country. De La Hacienda is, in my opinion, one of the best taquerias I have ever been to in the United States. Period. I still think about how good a super chile verde quesadilla is. I would recommend this place to all my friends for the 7 years I lived in Santa Cruz, and I do now 5 years since I left. Not only that, it's family run and everyone is given a holiday each Christmas to go back and see family. Is that not something amazing that should be supported? Hope to come back again. I forget who I would often see at the register's name, I want to say Kevin or David, but I hope you're doing well still. You guys are amazing.

I ordered the vegan taco, which consisted of 2 cold corn tortillas, way too many luke warm whole pinto beans, a small amount of cabbage and cilantro and 4 pathetic slices of avocado. My husband's burrito was huge and looked good. The chips were good, but the salsa was way too spicy. Probably won't come back.

If you're ever in Santa Cruz and you're craving for some good Mexican ?? food, this is the place. I had the chimichanga, and it was amazing. Highly recommend it ??

A new favorite that a friend introduced me to recently. Solid Mexican food and very friendly staff. Place can be hopping at lunch time, and for good reason. The food is great! Not a huge menu, which is good, has vegan, veggie, and carnivore options. Has great salsa as well.
