Went in at 10 am and there was nothing left. This place was recommended to us by they literally had nothing

I'm really not sure what the appeal is of this place. It's overpriced for one. 3.75 for a breakfast burrito that's nearly bite sized, $4.50+ for a croissant with very little filling. Just handed over cold. Maybe I just don't know the tricks to enjoying this place but $8-9 for a cold stuffed croissant and a coffee that I have to go fill myself out of an urn seems a bit steep. But other people seem to love it for some reason so maybe I'm crazy. I wouldn't recommend it.3* because it's not terrible. It's just average and overated.Edit; 6 years later and that seems like a reasonable price.

I ordered a Blueberry Scone and a matcha tea, the scone wasn’t too flavorful and when I asked for it to be heated up the staff pointed at a microwave by the entrance, they also had a toaster over in front but it was not working. I wasn’t going to heat up pastry at a microwave so I ended up not esting it. Also, the “matcha” tea was just a bag of tea. The seating area was quite pleasant.

The bakery seems to be very decent and the goods are really tasty ?

This is my first week in Santa Cruz, and I’ve made it my mission to visit every coffee shop/bakery while I’m here. Emily’s was a bit of a mixed bag. I loved my croissant and my girlfriend loved her coconut muffin, but the rest of order was so-so. The americano had way too much water, and the single shot latte was essentially a big cup of hot milk with a slight taste of espresso (I understand I only ordered one shot, but I should’ve been given less milk to fix the ratio!). The poppyseed muffin was also quite dry. Lastly, I was hoping to sit down and get some work done inside, but unfortunately the entire seating area is closed off. I’m assuming this was due to Covid, but even the White House has stated that the pandemic is over!

I've reviewed this place before and talked about how they consistently don't make enough food to meet demand, but I didn't put a picture, so I'm uploading one so you can see how ridiculous it is. If your store sells out of most of your product by 10 or 11 in the morning, either make more product or close earlier. I get that you've been doing things the exact same way for 40 years, but there are more people in Santa Cruz than there were in the 80's

First time client and from what I was able to tell, they have a very good selection of baked goods

I used to love Emily's! Their sweet rolls are beautiful and doughy and the best! BUT... They are always sold out. They never make enough stock any more and when I asked about ordering some ahead last year they had to call the owner to see if it was okay, as apparently they only make a limited stock each day. I have pretty much stopped going there, because they are always out of everything I want, pretty much always. This morning at 9 am they were out of sweet rolls. It is as if they do not want the business. Go figure...I have seen this place just run into the ground, business wise, and very sadly.:(

No frills establishment owned by a genuinely sweet woman who loves to bake with local products. She seems to be a straight shooter, real and authentic. She bakes the best pies in Santa Cruz County in my opinion. They run out early so make sure you go early or call the day before to order. Also love the croissants. They're not super buttery, the way I usually like them, but the yeasty bread and generously proportioned ham and cheese makes it a winner. Make sure you warm them up! :-)

When I first came to the bakery all the foods looked very appealing but I did not think they would taste good so I did not get anything at my first visit. At the second visit I saw a chocolate cupcake and decided to get it. Let's start with the taste. Absolutely amazing! The frosting is creamy and the cupcake is moist and not at all hard. It is perfectly delicious. A fine first choice for anyone wanting to try Emily's Bakery! The drinks are also very good. I recommend the Blueberry Banana Smoothie. Very fine bakery!

I was looking forward to a hot latte on a cold morning. I got the coffee, but 0 for service or experience. Emily the business owner is not very friendly or welcoming.

The ham and cheese croissants are freshly baked very delicate and very soft and very delicious. They also have a turkey and cheese that are very delicious as well.

I got a walnut muffin and a croissant. Both were delicious. I also asked the cashier and she said they bake everything daily, I believe she said that cooks come at 4 am to make everything.

I always have liked their muffins. I stopped and had a honey bran muffin. It wasn't even busy and I got a parking space.
