Iced latte was the worst I've ever had. It was too milky, I couldn't taste any coffee.

Vegan burrito tasted good but was doused in oil. Dripped extensively through all the packaging.

Only available coffee/tea/snack place open early. A little pricey for size of drinks we purchased. Seemed like a decent selection of drinks.

Perfect little adorable Cafe with great coffee and great food. The breakfast burrito was incredible and the breakfast sandwiches are delicious. The bagels they use are amazing too. Staff is super nice, a little bit of indoor seating and a lot of outdoor picnic tables. Can't wait to come back.

I discovered Firefly Bagels while living in Santa Cruz as a traveling health care worker during the pandemic. I have since moved away and still dream about them. I haven't found any bagels as yummy as these!

*My experience ordering from here through DoorDash:

Hello Firefly team. I wanted to leave a review and share my honest experience ordering your cream cheese bagel with egg. I ordered it thinking it would be what was advertised in the photo and what I got had both good aspects and disappointing aspects to it. The bagel itself was good and flavorful, the egg amount was great, but when it came to the amount of cream cheese you put, it was a very thin layer. I did pay $3 extra for this and was disappointed that it was so thin and on only one side of the bagel. I looked at your DoorDash reviews and saw the same thing emphasized by two other folks. It would be great to maybe have an accurate photo of this so customers know what to expect or to convey in the description “thin layer of cream cheese on one side of bagel” with an option to pay for more to have it actually look like the photo from your DoorDash advertisement. I am someone who never leaves reviews unless I genuinely feel a bit disappointed at something I paid extra for that was not accurate and wanted to make the company aware, especially since 2 other folks emphasized this already.

Once again, your bagel had great elements to it, but the extra charge of $3 for cream cheese with the photo advertised was misleading. I hope my feedback can lead to an improvement of at least providing an accurate photo and description of what to customers expect when they add cream cheese. I’ve personally have had cream cheese bagels that look exactly like your advertised doordash photo from Java Junction in River street, so I know it’s possible for bagels to be given more than a thin layer of cream cheese. I totally understand it’s only a $3 extra charge and at the end of the day, it’s not something that serious. I just don’t want others to be mislead and experience what I experienced when really looking forward to what you had advertised.

For folks looking to order through DoorDash, and if your planning to get something close to what I ordered (cream cheese, egg) please be aware if you are looking to get what is shown in the app, it unfortunately is misleading and would highly recommend Java Junction bagels instead.

The bagels are just like bread. The bagels are steamed (not boiled), so they are not very chewy or tasty. They cost $3.25 — a lot for a bad bagel. The service was really slow, and there is an up-charge for plant-based milk. Never again

Love this place,
Been there many times.
Cappuccino too hot, foam was simply not good and needs help and love.
The place is busy the seating is amazing, the crowed is cool, the cap help. Advice, go to coffee school and know the milk temperature.

Popular for good reason, although not the best place for a cozy sit down in cold weather.

Think of it as a walk up window to order. Small indoor space just to order really, and some picnic benches outside perfectly nice to sit and eat. There was a wait on a Saturday morning. I ordered online and by the time we walked there food was ready! 20-25 min. Waiting in line to order plus wait for food to be ready would have been a while otherwise. Really tasty bagel sanwhiches and the coffee was excellent as well.

Nice, homey sort of place with a great savoury breakfast/brunch menu and superb coffee selection. Lovely staff and the poppy seed muffin was excellent alternative to standard hotel breakfast. Seems to attract locals and tourists in equal measure; the vibe is welcoming and warm.

I used to love coming to this place but now the quality of the bagels and the customer service is getting progressively worse. This is a childhood favorite cafe for me but all of a sudden the workers just don't listen to you. I always ask for crispy bacon because they barely cook it and that's a pretty simple ask. That was my only problem at first but now they don't listen and they still barely cook the bacon, and on top of that they give you a tiny sliver of cream cheese on one side of the bagel. So we started paying extra for the cream cheese and still they would barely put any on there. Why am I paying 5 dollars for cream cheese on an already expensive bagel and they won't even do the request it shouldn't be on the menu. Today we asked for a cup of cream cheese instead of the side and now the bacon was literally half raw. Like not slightly undercooked literally half raw. And it said crispy bacon on the bag. I hope I do not get food poisoning and they just dont care anymore about the food they are giving you and when you have a problem they will not remake it and the cashier argues with you. This is getting ridiculous almost every time I get a bagel they somehow mess it up. Nowhere else has fresh bagels like this so I'm just disappointed.

Cute little coffee shop with amazing bagels! Vegan burrito is good also but just a bit spicy. Definitely worth the stop for a quick coffee and a bite.

Found this coffee house when heading out of town from a weekend trip to Santa Cruz. When we arrived there was a line snaking around the building so we knew this place was about to be good! Waited in line for 10 minutes and another 15 minutes to get our food and drinks, but it was worth the wait! I ordered the bagel breakfast sandwich and it was LOADED with so much egg, definitely gave me my moneys worth. The peach tea was also yummy and my spouse said the breakfast burrito he ordered was yummy. Cute shop, great food, friendly service, would be back if ever in town! My only advice would be to plan for a wait and if you’re in a rush, probably not the spot for you. For reference we visited at 11AM on a Monday morning.
