We have eaten here over past several years when we visit Santa Cruz and enjoy the restaurant for its nostalgic atmosphere as well as generally good Italian style foods. Typically get bolognese spaghetti, though this time a bit more oily than typical, tomato & fresh burrata cheese salad, and always the soups. Bread is light and freshly delicious. Dessert tasty though very, very small serving of added ice cream. Overall we will return to enjoy .
Gabriella Café is such a gem — warm, bustling, and welcoming without a hint of pretension. We started with focaccia, olives, and a Caprese that tasted straight from the garden. Every dish felt fresh and thoughtful. Our mains — duck confit, butternut squash ravioli, mushroom pasta, and Bolognese — were rich and beautifully made. The food is so flavorful with recipes and ingredients you just don't see (taste) very often. Our server was very personable and attentive. This was our second time we have attended this restaurant during a Santa Cruz Restaurant Week and Gabriella really delivered on a delicious meal.
