Love the selection of sandwiches and nostalgic Bay Area feel whenever we stop at Ike’s. Staff always friendly and food is always good.
I'm not a fan of this place. A lot of incorrect information online of saying sandwiches are 11 to 12 in and that's completely not true They're at the very most 8 in total. Probably more like 7 inches similar in size to Jersey Mike's.
So I didn't realize the sandwich was going to be warm and not a fan of warm sandwiches but they didn't make that clear.
The sauce is weird. Overpowering. sandwich tasted like the sauce. I didn't see a way just to get plain mayo and mustard.
It's very little meat I got the McCain one I supposed to have roast beef , turkey and salami and there was so little turkey and salami I couldn't taste it at all and any bite. The roast beef was very salty.
There's a lot of fault information about this place having very hearty big sandwiches and saying they're bigger than they are They're really not that hearty at all .
For the outrageous price they should be bigger and have much more ingredients in them.
I don't know if it's the godfather sauce or the dirty sauce that gave it a weird flavor but yeah I'm not a fan. Just left a bad fake garlic taste in my mouth.
I only got it because I had a coupon buy one get one free but I would never spend that much on one of these sandwiches.
Walked to this shop tonight from my hotel by accident and glad I did. I got the Rueben sandwich on their regular bread…..it was fabulous!!! Wished we had this shop in northern Illinois because I’d be a regular customer. Service was nice and atmosphere typical sandwich shop attire. Would definitely come back when back in the area.
It took over half an hour to make 5 sandwiches. I saw 4 people in the back. At least tell us it’s going to take a while. Communication would be great.
Fantastic staff, great sandwiches.
I really love Ike’s sandwiches. i’ve been to a bunch of the different locations around the country, including the original in San Francisco and I’m always happy with what I get. Each location has a few different options than other locations in the chain. this spot was right next-door to the hotel. I was staying in which was convenient. I went with the Jim Rome sandwich. Not sure I’ve ever had that one before but it was really good basically turkey and avocado. I got it on their famous Dutch crunch bread which is awesome. Everything was fresh and tasty. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Total cost for the sandwich, a drink and chips was about $25 Including tip. The sandwich is about a 6 inch sub so the price seems a little high and it is, but I don’t eat this a lot. It’s kind of a special treat on occasion. And hey, you get a free lollipop to boot.
I love Ike’s vegan options and meat options and great take out timeliness and vibes

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ike’s Sandwich shop in Santa Cruz, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the General Manager who kindly suggested a few favorites from their extensive menu.
I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try a hot sandwich instead of my usual cold choice, and I am so glad I did. The sandwich was delicious - the perfect combination of flavors. I got it extra dirty! The ingredients were clearly fresh and of high quality, which elevated the overall taste of the sandwich.
What stood out to me, however, was the clean store and the exceptional service we received throughout our visit. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great dining experience. It's always refreshing to be treated with such care and attention in a restaurant, especially with how costly it is to eat out these days.
Overall, my visit to Ike’s Sandwich shop in Santa Cruz was a memorable one. Delicious food, fresh ingredients, and exceptional service make this place a must-visit for any sandwich lover. I will definitely be returning to try more of their sandwiches in the future.

Great sandwiches and the workers are usually pretty nice!
The Hollywould's SF Cheesesteak is incredibly disappointing. Don't bother. It's basically a cold steak sandwich, nothing heated / melted like a cheesesteak is supposed to be nor how they picture it. I even paid an extra $6 for "double meat" and "extra cheese". Nothing extra was added though. In the end I received a halfway decent sandwich that was mostly bread, a sliver of cheese, and a pittance of dried out meat for $25.
