After dinner on our anniversary we chose to have a night cap drink in the lounge. A crowd came in that was outrageously loud. We asked if we could sit at the first table inside the restaurant to finish our drink and have a conversation. We were told no. We could not have a normal conversation in the bar so we left our drinks and we left the bar. I have never been so disappointed. A complete lack of helpfulness by the hostess and ended an otherwise nice anniversary dinner on a very rude note. How disappointing and unaccomadating.
I had heard great things about this place and that the food was better than it used to be. The location and view is out of this world. A full view of the ocean and beach. The food was good - not great. The corned beef was good, but the huge slices of bread were way out of proportion. The fried were hot but a little soggy. The crab cake benedict was good - the crab was flavorful, but one of the poached eggs' yolk was hard boiled, not runny like it should be. It was also served on a lovely bread, but it was impossible to cut it because of it's dense crust. Our waitress was attentive but then dissappeared for almost half an hour after we finished. She took our plates and gave us the check. This was a mutual birthday celebration lunch. She didn't even ask if we wanted anything else like coffee or dessert before bringing the check. A missed opportunity. We'd give it a B- overall.
The scallops were amazing. So was their fresh bread. The halibut needed a little more seasoning but the butter beans that came with it was delicious. Great service.
We had a lovely Easter dinner. Service was great and so was the food. The view was perfect!
Great views! Great food and service was really fast and the staff was really friendly. Highly recommend.
Over all experience was. 10/10 the food was amazing, the service was excellent! The only thing I would say that was a real downer and highly unprofessional, was the service at the host stand, I came here for my birthday brunch with three others, when I was approaching, I was not greeted until I said something, I told them I was here for my birthday brunch reservation at 11:15, the girl was on the phone with another customer ( no big deal) now the guy there he just said ok, proceeded to help the other host with what she was doing, never said anything back, we stood there for 4 min with nothing being said, finally he took us to our seat.
They made us feel so special and celebrated for our anniversary! The service was outstanding and the food was amazing too. Highly recommend the Ahi Tuna appetizer! We will be dreaming about how good that was for weeks.
Location is fantastic. Food was pretty good. Except the chowder. It was like cement. Never seen it that thick before. Everything else was pretty good. Service was great. Ambience good. Noise level was fine. Overall, good.
Very nice experience, service was excellent and not too overbearing. Food items were unique and tasty! Abalone was very good!
We had an excellent family dinner and experience. Katy was our server and she was really wonderful. Josh took good care of us as well. The cheese and fruit queso appetizer had a couple of pieces of burnt toast visible. Katy quickly corrected that and also apologized for some technical difficulties in fulfilling our cocktail order. Our entrées were magnificent and portion sizes were generous. Overall, it was a very good experience.

I highly recommend going to this restaurant during the day, although I went at night, the view outside the window is very good. The environment in the restaurant is also very clean and exquisite. From their food, you can see that the chef is very careful in making real food. He is very attentive in plating, and the steak is extremely good, just three points.

My husband I travel for work and pleasure - one of our greatest enjoyments is eating at excellent restaurants - this New Years Eve we might have had the best meal of our lives at O’Neils. The layered, light, fruit and vegetable infused courses were spectacular from appetizers to dessert - the scallops and beef filet main courses were mouthwatering! The service was amazing - both the chef and Maitre D’ came to our table and the waiter was terrific. The CA Pinot Noir we ordered was wonderful. Only a 10 minute walk from our Santa Cruz home - we’ll be back!

I ordered the Clam Chowder and their Fish and Chips. The soup was over-thickened with flour, the batter was too thick and fried too hard, and the fries were limp. They were also short handed; for our party of 7, it took twenty minutes for the servers to bring everyone their food. They never came to check how we were doing or to refill our coffees. The restaurant was beautiful with amazing views but the food and the service, at the prices they were charging, were among the worst I had experienced.
