First time to the spot, although it's nearby. The people I was with said it was the busiest they'd ever seen it.The layout is quite nice. The metal chairs are super uncomfortable, which I suppose is good if a business doesn't want customers lounging around for very long; but as a customer, not pleasant seating. They've got a pretty extensive menu of connosiur coffees to foofoo coffeeesque sugar shakes, which are popular with Americans, and some nice food items, including the yummy avocado toast I had.Although it didn't seem crazy busy, as I initially mentioned, the people I was with said it was the busiest they'd seen it, which they figured explained 1) it taking quite a while between ordering and receiving coffees and 2) getting one of our coffee orders wrong. We're all only human, so I won't hold anything the delays or mistake against them. I would try this spot again, and could see it being a decent go to cafe for meet ups. An investment in more comfortable seating would be nice to see though.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a wheelchair ramp.

Came here to get some work done on a weekend afternoon and it was an okay experience. The staff here were nice and friendly.I ordered their Tropical Mango Smoothie ($10) and it was 16 oz of goodness. You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck from this cafe.Work wise - it's not as conducive as I had hoped. There is wifi available but no outlets to charge any devices. They also had the doors propped open which made it a bit breezy inside, and during winter, a bit cooler than I was comfortable with personally.Beware - there's also no restroom available and they sent me to Seabright Social next door, where I snuck in to use it and promptly left.Small parking lot available in the back with tight parking spots.

Everything they do at this location they do well. As someone who lives nearby I wish they stayed open later. I think it could be a great spot in the community for people to study/work in the afternoon, and maybe host some artists.

Java Junction has excellent chai lattes - they make their own chai and it’s unsweetened, so I can add just a little sugar to make it perfect.

Be prepared to wait 30 minutes for a mediocre bagel sandwich that won't match what your ordered. I live down the street and only go in times of extreme desperation and laziness and always regret it. It's a good place to go it you want to be annoyed. You can drive to the bagelry, get a bagel, go to Safeway and make your own sandwich in the time it takes these people to make a coffee, which by the way is very watered down.

I feel like whenever I go in here the staff is not very social.. even when you are talking to them. Probably not gonna come back as this is always my experience. Lots of other good shops In town!

This is my favorite coffee house when I come to Santa Cruz. Full coffee menu, bagels, breakfast sandwiches and more. Tables inside and out. Staff are like old friends.

Visiting Santa Cruz thought I’d stop by a local place to support small shops but place was horrible walked in guy was on his phone texting and stopped once we got to the counter once we ordered I got charged a extra 50 cents for a cup for some reason but my cousin did not and we got the same thing and ordered a pastry and got it warmed up and he placed it on some other counter without telling us a word made us wait 10 minutes there for nothing coffee was very bitter too was better off going to Starbucks to get a cold brew for cheaper

A local friend took me here as I'm always down to support a local coffee shop, especially as I'm visiting from SLC that has a different coffee culture. While the atmosphere and service were great, also to note that both indoor and outdoor seating were clean and enjoyable, the drinks and bagels we ordered left much to be desired. My vanilla latte was grainy, had a weird aftertaste, and the ice had already melted in the cup, which gives away it wasn't properly made. The bagel sandwiches were good but kind of plain beyond the turkey and melted cheddar, no salt, pepper, or much else to it besides add-ons you have to ask for. Probably will pass on this one next visit and advise there's better quality shops out in Santa Cruz. We ended up not finishing the drinks and went to Verve coffee roasters instead for new drinks.
