Baristas were super friendly and bubbly, manager in the background working hard too. Bagel and drink were good, reccomend their blended drinks ;).

Java junction on Seabright is always on point. I had to run errands with my 5 year old and was in the area so I stopped in to get a coffee and sandwich. There was only one other person in the store that ordered in front of me. Everything at first seemed normal. I ordered my drink and food. The coffee came out quick and was good. I ordered a peanut butter and jelly and a Turkey cranberry sandwich. That’s when I realized what I was getting myself into. Just another Santa Cruz poor service location. 3 employees standing around talking about how wasted they got and using profanity in their conversation in front of my 5 year old ad she’s waiting for her peanut butter and jelly. I leaned more about their drunken night then I cared too. Mind you I was the only one in the stores 20 minutes later I had to stand up and stair at them to give them the hint I was waiting. One of the employees asked If I needed something or if I was waiting. I replied “oh ya I’m waiting for something”. They finally decided to stop talking to get out sandwiches made. When we got them the bread was very dry. Not sure if it was from sitting out so long as they attempted to work. I don’t get why these restaurants pay people to socialize and ignore customers. How do you even stay in business? Plus don’t bring your kids there unless you want them to ask you what the F word means, or Dad what’s Vodka.

Dropped in for coffee and a bagel yesterday morning (leap day). I was served by three pleasant women with smiles on their faces and obviously happy to be there. There where a few patrons in lobby, it was clean. The countertops where free of crumbs and spilt coffee from previous guests, and not an ideology flag to be seen! =)

This place has very poor customer service skills. Manager and owner not friendly at all. Tossed my $13 drink that I purchased 5 min before closing. They never informed me they are closing. I came 15 min later to pick it up. They informed me it’s in the garbage and refused to reimburse me. How can you treat your customer this way?I can’t imagine treating my customers this way.

horrible customer service from manager and business owner. no respect for customer and zero manners. I ordered a shake and even gave them a tip, paid $13 for a shake. I did not notice they close in 5 min. They did NOT inform me they are closing in 5 min. I went to play a vb and came back after 20 min. They were cleaning inside. Manager told me she threw out my shake and refused to reimburse me. She claims she yelled out that they are closing. There were not many people on the beach. She could have put my drink out. The owner standing next to her said the same: no shake, no money return, it's my fault. He was not even trying to be nice. I was buying their shakes frequently playing vb there and always came to pick it up after a game. I guess not any more.

Mgr too much for my taste. Came out to the lot being intrusive to the reason I went thete in the first place, to place a call to family after a wuick bite. She took issue with my asking for the restroom and when i picked up my food after I found one, my being friendly to the staff that helped me. Not cool

Visiting Santa Cruz thought I’d stop by a local place to support small shops but place was horrible walked in guy was on his phone texting and stopped once we got to the counter once we ordered I got charged a extra 50 cents for a cup for some reason but my cousin did not and we got the same thing and ordered a pastry and got it warmed up and he placed it on some other counter without telling us a word made us wait 10 minutes there for nothing coffee was very bitter too was better off going to Starbucks to get a cold brew for cheaper

I realize I should've paid attention to the reviews before I went in. It is close to my house and the coffee is decent, but that's where it stops as noted in several other reviews the customer service is either nonexistent or rude as it is the morning manager, who knows maybe she's the owner. When I tried to share some feedback with her (which was simply that theit pup cups are highly inconsistent. Sometimes they're full to the rim, and sometimes, as in this case it was about a quarter filled) with her, she didn't like the tone of my voice and therefore wasn't willing to listen to my feedback. Felt like I was talking to my mother rather than someone who is managing a business and should be reinforcing customer service that breeds loyalty. I'm now sorry that I gave them any business, onto a better coffee shop. Professionally, I've trained many people over the years. I'd have kicked her out of any training program. My guess is the manager may reply to this review saying I was rude and I use the F word. I never raise my voice. I wasn't rude. I was just giving feedback and yes, so surprised at the apathy of the manager. I did an FU on the way out.

I am somewhat picky about my bagels. I mostly get annoyed when cafes hand me a cardboard looking bagel with those plastic Philadelphia cups of cream cheese and want me to do it myself. It's just lazy and I'm too lazy to do it, also it doesn't taste very good and it's never quite enough. Anyway, java junction evenly spreads quality cream cheese onto my quality bagel and they do it in a thoughtful way that doesn't make me feel like they're in a hurry to get me out of there. Also, they have an awesome selection of creative coffee seasonal drinks that puts Starbucks to shame. To top it off it's located in the parking lot of Ross so it's not all crowded with hipsters, it doesn't have a pretentious vibe and they don't bump up the price because they are selling coffee and pastries- not a lifestyle.

Every time I come here the staff is always very friendly and great. The pastries are very yummy, I've had the lemon blueberry loaf and it is my favorite pastry there. The chocolate chip cookies can sometimes be a little old tasting. The drinks are always made perfect, also an amazing place to study and get work done, very inviting and comfy . There's outdoor and indoor seating.

Cute place and good prices but no bathrooms and no plugs to charge computer. I would also love to see some organic options on the menu:)
