This place apparently doesn't offer refunds at all when they fail to even provide you a menu item that you ordered and paid for. Lousy customer service and responsiveness. An unfortunate business.

Crow Grammar

God awful rude service, the person at the counter didn't even put our entire order in, and they were out of not only most of the coffee types, but also bacon, sausage, and the like. charged full price for a bacon sandwich with no bacon despite not having the main ingredient, and wouldn't say what they did and didn't have- just let us figure it out by guessing. also the most bland chorizo I have ever had in my life.

My husband and I are in town visiting my son for UCSC Family Weekend. Decided to check out this spot for a quick pick up. There were about five customers in line total, one in front of me and my son, and a couple behind us. The young lady who took our order was great! She took our order- one large drink and two medium drinks. A man who appeared to be the manager or owner who was working on the drinks seemed tense even though the line was not long at all. He quickly rushed my and son to the side by saying “have you paid? Ok your drinks will be out soon” Not the friendliest. He first called out our two medium drinks. My son and I grabbed those and sat to the side. He then called out our third drink that was ordered (and paid for) as a large, but was a smaller size. I asked him if that size was a large as our third drink was a supposed to be. He quickly responded “did you guys order 3 drinks?” Then he proceeded to say he was just going to refund me the .50 for the mistake because that would be faster for me. It’s not the .50 that irked me, it was the fact that he questioned whether or not I ordered 3 drinks then disregarded us by saying he was going to refund me the .50. Rude and very off putting. He acted as though the line was long (2 people behind me) and that I was giving him a hard time. I told him to keep the .50

Rely Capital

Do not support this business. This guy is a terrible individual. He screamed and yelled at my kids for bringing in a Jamba Juice to his tired old lane coffee shop on Pacific Avenue please please go across the street to Verve Cafe. It’s a much better experience and actually the coffee is better, this owners behavior has been tolerated for too long in Santa Cruz. It’s time for him to go!!!!

Lucrative drinks offered like tisanes, teas, and damn good coffee. I had a cacao hot chocolate with heavy dose of whipped cream. Yesterday I had a bowl of soul, and the honey latte 🦦🤌🏽❤️‍🔥chefs kiss*. The staff and atmosphere will keep me coming back for as long as she exists.

Ameil Patel

This place was a whole vibe. We went early in the morning on a Saturday and they had jazz music playing and the team members were all so kind and helpful. It had a very rustic, industrial yet European vibe that reminded my parents of home. The food quality was top notch and fresh! The Whiskey Latte was amazing as well.

Was greeted with a smile by the wonderful barista Bella. She took the time to explain the different drinks and pastries they have. Got an expresso latte and a crossaint, both were very good. It's rare nowadays to find great customer service, but Bella was very patient and courteous and was interested in my feedback. Will be back soon!

I would have gave more stars but lady behind counter had a very rude put off attitude. I asked for breakfast sandwich with bagel didn’t realize it came with biscuit i wanted to add cream cheese no aoli sauce or chives. Also willing to pay extra for sesame seed bagel. She acted super confused and irritated about it. I repeated it 3 times to what seemed like an aggravated employee. I wanted an xl shirt and asked if there was one in back she was short about that as well. It wasn’t pleasant. The gentleman cooking greeted us with a smile and was friendly. Bagel was excellent but the vibe makes me not want to come back. When I come in and spend over $30 on a coffee and two bagel sandwiches I expect better. I can post receipt if needed. Maybe it was because hubby had a coffee from verve and we didn’t see ur sign we went to verve first as per google recommendation. Maybe you guys should have upped your name in google search. We would have came to u first had we known about u. But her attitude completely sucks and as I can see in the reviews im not the only one who had this experience. I was trying to support your business and was not in the slightest cheap like you make your other patrons out to be which is very bad for business btw. Do better!

This place is fantastic. Excellent coffee, the staff is amazingly kind and helpful. Great bakery items (though I miss the pecan scones). The atmosphere is 100% Santa Cruz, laid back, welcoming with high quality offerings. Even the restroom is bright and clean. I give it too marks.

Sage Fox

A cup of hot water used to be a dollar or so. Now it is $4.25... For hot water. I have a feeling they changed the price to ward off housing insecure or low income customers. If so, that is not right and prejudice... And while the space looks nice, the service there was a bit rude and unwelcoming in my visit, which wasn't always the case in the years before.
