The employees were awesome and cafe is super cute but the food wasn’t anything too special. Eggs on both of our sandwiches were still runny and the thick cut bacon was not thick at all.

Even though there is a Mad Yolks is San Jose I took drive to Santa Cruz to try it out. There was plenty of metered parking nearby. About 20 people waiting for food or in line to place order. Even with the crown the team there cranked out 3 to 5 orders every few minutes. A good performance from the staff. I ordered the Mad Chick to go. It was about $19 with tip just for that. No beverage. Inside tables were all full so I took it outside and ate it leaning against my old VW. It was fantastic! Great flavors and textures. Large portions and the chicken was very crispy and loaded with flavor. A little gooey and dripping while biting bet that made it even better. I recommend it. Im going to the San Jose location next to try the tots and a standard egg sando.

Stopped by Mad Yolks on our way to Santa Cruz and honestly walked out wondering why this place has to be so far away 😭 — because it is SO GOOD.
We ordered the Shrooms and Mad Chick, and both were outstanding.
The Shrooms was such a pleasant surprise: incredibly smooth, with eggs and mushrooms blending together beautifully. Comforting, rich, and unexpectedly memorable.
The Mad Chick fully deserves its signature status—borderline legendary in my book. The chicken has that Taiwanese-style crispy fried chicken seasoning and texture, but in one generous piece. Perfectly crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy and well-seasoned inside, not dry at all. Genuinely one of those bites that makes you pause.
We also tried the strawberry matcha latte—very tasty, though on the sweeter side. It works nicely as a dessert-style drink after the meal.
Service is solid; when it gets busy, food may take a bit longer, and seating can be limited. Parking isn’t the easiest either. That said, the food is good enough that all of this becomes easy to overlook—and it’s probably busy because it’s that good.
Bottom line: highly, highly recommended.
If you’re anywhere near Santa Cruz, do yourself a favor—stop by and grab a Mad Chick. You won’t regret it. 🍳🔥

Soo good! Everything tastes amazing. We also love the strawberry matcha drinks. Really happy they opened this location and we no longer have to drive all the way downtown.

This is by far the best restaurant in Santa Cruz. I come here every opportunity I have to get a BAE and a strawberry matcha. This place is the best!!! Words can’t describe how good these sandwiches are. 1000/10

Food was fantastic, but for the love of God, turn on the heat! I couldn’t even sit inside…maybe 55-60 degrees inside. I mentioned it to the girl working and she said, ya we have heat but we haven’t turned it up yet. Ya I figured that out on my own.

Breakfast burger w. Arugula n over easy egg was amazing! I was tempted in getting a second. The jasmine lemonade was light and refreshing even in a chilly day. However, the strawberry matcha latte is too sweet for my tastebuds.

This place was busy but good overall, I like my eggs a bit browned but they were the typical eggs, the messy tots were different, if you like Indian green curry then you will like the messy tots. The salsa was sweet to me which I don't care for but overall the food was not bad.

The servings are large. Eggs are tender and smooth.
Their shroom burger is just amazing! Perfect!! Their Japanese curry tots are yumm too but honestly tasted like maggi noodle flavored tots that’s an interesting twist tho!

So I really enjoyed their signature chicken sandwich. The chicken patty was very crunchy on the outside with a soft tender juicy inside. It wasn’t dry at all. I also loved how the vegetables they used weren’t wilted. Everything tasted fresh and crunchy which made the whole sandwich feel more satisfying. Overall it was a great restaurant with good people and a comfortable atmosphere. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend.

First time eating at Mad Yolks and I wish there was one close to my neighborhood. We tried the Chicken sandwich and the Spam Sandwich. So much flavor and great portions. I had the strawberry matcha latte and it was probably the best matcha latte I've had.

Really good food and reasonable prices, great matcha drinks too. Service was fast, seating was not. Perils of being popular
