LOCATION PERMANENTLY CLOSED My fiancé and I walked to this location yesterday (9/14/22) after looking at the good reviews online. It shares a building with a Korean bbq restaurant inside. We went inside to order at Oceans and the lady working at the Korean bbq register told us that Oceans has permanently closed down and that it's been closed for at least 2 months now. We were frustrated because online and here on Yelp, it doesn't indicate anywhere that this restaurant is no longer in business. It showed the regular operating hours and that it was still open. The restaurant name / logo is also still on the building and the menu and everything is still inside as if it were still open. We wouldn't have walked clear across downtown Santa Cruz had we known it was closed down.. Posting this for anyone in the future that has hopes of going here! I was so bummed out.

Food was terrible. Do not recommend clam chowder, it looked and tasted expired. Salad was brown. Plates were dirty and cups had stains. Water tasted like it came straight out of a river ?. And service was really slow.

Excellent service, love the atmosphere and the vibe.Food was top notch, I had the calamari and the shrimp tacos. Oceans also has a good selection of draft drinks, my go-to is the Slo-Brew Hefeweizen.Reese is an awesome server!

delicious food,!! try the Korean mojito. I was incredibly surprised and I am a drink snob! Very friendly staff! and outside seating An excellent addition to Santa Cruz! We highly recommend this little gem!

My dude and I popped in for lunch. Super good. Dude had fish and chips, I had cheese burger with a side chopped salad. Side salads on the menu but they accommodate me! Nice lady working on Sunday the 12th! Give it a try!

This place has potential, but has a long way to go to be good. The service was very friendly, but quite slow. However, given the current shortage and difficulties in getting help, which I think was the case here since only one person was waiting tables, I give them a 100% pass on that issue. However, I simply can't give a pass on the quality of the food. They asked how we wanted the burgers cooked, always a good sign, which we ordered "medium." They were pre-formed patties, very thin, and extremely well done to the point of almost burnt. The fries were soggy and stale. Not much more to say, a nice atmosphere, good place to watch a game, but the food is just not anywhere near acceptable.
We are here today for the first time and will not be returning. We ordered wings, a Philly cheesesteak, fries and kids Mac and cheese. The wings were squishy, barely had any sauce of them and were just not very good. The cheesesteak was awful. We couldn't even finish it. It was SO DRY and the meat was totally burnt. The fries were all end potato skin pieces that were not pleasant to eat. The kids Mac and cheese was also not very good. My son ate a few bites and wouldn't eat anymore. Looked like maybe a 1/4 c of Kraft Mac and cheese for something like $6. Out a Total was over $50 and it was totally NOT WORTH IT. there are many other places to get good food. Don't waste your money here.

We were walking past, smelled good, so popped in. Not familiar with the area but this was such a lovely place to spend dinner. The food came out quick, the server Paul was lovely, and the outdoor seating was great. Paul went out of his way to provide great service in many ways. Pop in! Affordable and friendly.

Read some bad reviews but definitely a fine meal. Wonderful service by very kind and timely people. Though the portions were a bit on the smaller side, the food was delicious nonetheless. Ice cold water, a hot chicken sandwich, and some bussin' fries. Would dine again!!
