Very tasty and great service

So delicious, how could you not love local street food vendors!? The food is great and reasonably priced, with excellent customer service. Samosas and chai are the perfect fall snack as you're shopping your way through pacific street. I always stop here if it's open!

Had Idly, Samosa, Masala Dosa yestereday. Surprise. Dishes were very tasty and better than many South Indian restaurants in Bay Area. Though not comparable to places in South India, considering quality of ingredients in USA, well done Chef. Keep it up. Will come again.

Very bad food and services! Stay away from this place.

The food was good, but the customer service was amazing. My food fell off the table and the owner graciously have me a new plate free of charge. Please check out this cute sidewalk stand when you are in downtown Santa Cruz!

Had dosa and mango lassi here, both delicious! They used almond milk in the lassi which I really enjoyed. The two folks working there were very kind and welcoming. Would recommend!

Sunni was very kind (on my birthday, too!) and made me special fried little balls of sweetness for dessert. Yummy! I had lentils, my friend and I both had dosas, she had samosas, and I have had the lassi before--also good--but this time I had the chai. His chai is not the really sweet kind Americans are used to in Starbucks, but the type Indians actually drink. So if you order expecting it to be like Starbucks, you will be disappointed. It is chai. Chai means tea. He's a chatty, amiable man, and we enjoyed the afternoon by taking in the homey, delicious food this kind and sweet man offers up.

Please do not fall for reviews… Based on reviews, I wanted to give it a try. But sorry I have never been this disappointed with food ever. Samber tasted like yellow water with veggies. And it was expensive.Potato filling was white, absolutely bland..I mentioned it to the owner. He said he added water as samber was thick.. seriously!!I asked him if he has fresh chai.. again it tasted like tea bag in water. Absolute waste of money and time .

Ordered idli, chutney (freshly made), sambhar (was ok) and chai. Owner is very friendly. Location is cute. Good place for a quick south-Indian bite.

Delicious! Had the dosa, which came with sambar and coconut chutney, and a mango lassi. It was made fresh on the spot so the dosa was a beautiful texture - lightly crispy with a delicious potato masala inside. Sambar and chutney were also tasty. Service was great - quick and very friendly. Will definitely come again soon!I read some of the other reviews and I'm genuinely puzzled by the bad reviews. The food was very good.

where to start. This is a little nook on the street with couple of tables. Not very clean. Samosas were good and fresh but the Dosa was the worst I've ever had. Tasted like it was over fermented, soggy and Masala was bland. Dosa was served with only Sambar and coconut chutney. Sambar tasted more like plain moong dal, chunky, cold and barely any spices. The prices are low but the quality of the food was so poor. The hype isn't real.
