It's a must have staple. Never leave Santa Cruz without it! We usually get the mint chocolate chip shakes and I often will ask the waitress to surprise me and I haven't had a single item on the menu that wasn't phenomenal!

Really great vegan food. Tasty and makes you feel healthy and strong. If you're looking for vegi don't hesitate. Cool throwback style. Humble and wise service that's fun! Would definitely be back, especially after a swim.

This place is sad. Messed up our order on many counts. Fries were soggy. The veggie burger was soggy and insipid. Definitely won't be back.

My favorite is the appetizer with the "beef" wrapped in corn tortillas with guacamole. The sauce is amazing. In addition, I have had some really great experiences and conversations with friends hanging out here late. Its cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

Woo! They're finally back open. Where else would I get my vegan milkshake fix? Interior in is a retro-themed. For COVID safety purposes, Saturn's limited their seating to a few outdoor tables only. They sanitize thoroughly & all staff wear masks. Service was slow, even when only my bf and I were the only patrons, but our waitress was courteous and kept us updated on our order progress. CHICKEN AVOCADO CLUB SANDWICH: This is two triple-deck sandwiches smashed together, so prepare yourself for a huge meal. Loved their vegan chicken. A lil scanty on the avocado, but otherwise great. In the future, I'd opt for a different side-- their soup tastes canned. CHICKEN TENDERS BASKET: Ok tbh, this is a huge shame LOL. My bf and I have tried a good number of vegetarian meat substitutes, and he commented that these taste just like the $3 Trader Joe's chickenless crispy tenders. He's not wrong. Girl.................... THIN MINT MILKSHAKE: Apparently their thin mint flavor comes with dairy, but our server kindly requested the kitchen to make a vegan version. Appreciate the accommodation. So creamy & satisfied my sweet tooth! It's a shame their Berkeley location closed. While a little rough around the edges, Saturn is still a lovable, homey spot with great veg options that I'd be happy to return to anytime.

I started going to Saturn Cafe in the early 2000s because before the vegetarian hype it was one of the few places with no cross contamination and good food. Over the years it has consistently gotten worse and worse. I recently found out THEY DON'T MAKE THEIR OWN FRIES. They buy them frozen from a company. AND they are not gluten free. Not gluten free and NOWHERE on the menu does it say anything about this allergen. The spartacus salad was their last saving grace and then they got rid of salads entirely on their menu. I know that change is inevitable but when you take off half the things I order and I learn you don't even make your own "award winning" fries you lose a lot in my book. Vegan and vegetarian food has changed so much in the past few years that buying Daya cheese is outdated and honestly not anything to write home about. I'm skeptical to anything in the restaurant being made in house. If I wanted frozen I can eat trader joes at home.

Loved Saturn Cafe! They are vegetarian and vegan restaurant and really brought both the options and flavor. I wish I would have tried the orange dreamsicle shake. The breakfast nachos and tacos were delicious! Great service and a cool retro diner vibe. Quick and reasonably priced!
This restaurant has wonderful service and delicious meals. My favourite place in the city. The food served quickly and the rates are affordable. Will definitely recommend this place.

Amazing vegetarian food. Beyond good, I mean impossibly good, with the impossible burger! The space cowboy and the buffalo wings are where it's at! Amazing.

The food is delicious. Our wonderful server I think her name was Deminica. I hate to mess up her name but she has the cutest red hair. She recommended the chicken sandwich and it brought back delicious memories of my non vegan days. Not so healthy but delicious days. The chicken sandwich is incredibly good. I would like to try other items on the menu but I know me and I will be going back for that chicken sandwich. This restaurant is a must try even if you are not vegan.

I love Saturn, especially the shakes. Was really disappointed with the way they tasted yesterday, even more sad to have paid $20 for two shakes! $1.50 for add ons like banana which I found at the bottom of my shake whole and unblended. Giving a 3/5 because it's usually always really delicious.
