Food was tasty. We ordered Chicken satay, house dumpling, spicy fried rice, pineapple red curry (chicken n shrimp) and chowmein. However service could have been better.
The food was excellent. I dislike duck, but ordered it anyways, I hated the duck but the vegetables with the sauce were so good that I enjoyed my meal anyways. The waitress was kind and patient with our party. Unfortunately, they added an 18% service charge without telling anyone, or having some sort of of sign indicating that there would be a service charge. Had I been informed, it would have been a nonissue. On top of the service charge and my own incompetence of not looking at the bill, I left a 20% tip. The bill should have been around 130 but ended up being closer to 200 instead. Overall, I had a terrible financial experience with this restaurant.
The food is nice but the staff is nicer. And ask for extra spice. Its a decent option for a meal near the Boardwalk.Fried Rice dishes are your best bet.
I enjoyed the service and view but food taste was average.
This Thai Restaurant is the worst restaurant on the planet: I am a chef cooking Thai Food. This place is not fit to feed a dog to eat: July 03, 2022.It’s seem like they reheated their old food: Some of their food taste rotten. So disappointed and over price: order seafood salad, pad Thai, eggs plant, and no free rice. They charge for rice.$170.00 do not eat at this place. Will be your worst night. This place deserve ZERO ⭐️!All their dishes taste the same sauce. They need to replace their chef. After reading and you still go, the. You deserve to lose your money.
I cannot BELIEVE this place has gotten anything above one star! We went for dinner around 8, four people. We were sat after a short wait and ordered beers and our food. The appetizers, shrimp rolls & crab rolls came after about 15 minutes. The shrimp was RAW, literally raw and chewy...barely warm inside. We couldn't eat them. The crab rolls were crab, cream cheese & glass noodles. The cream cheese was ice cold and the noodles gave it a strange texture. Also couldn't finish those. I ordered pineapple fried rice and it was bland and completely imbalanced - there were more onions, pineapples, and raisins than rice and it tasted oily & sweet - no other flavor. Just when I thought the hits couldn't keep coming, my partner let me try his yellow curry - also bland. This place clearly capitalizes on location and should consider replacing the cook. The only positive was that the staff was friendly.
Sawasdee by the Sea offers good Thai food at reasonable prices. The service was attentive and helpful, and the food we ordered was great: red curry with lots of veggies and tofu, a side order of brown rice, and a delicious pad see’ew. Located on the third floor of the building, the dining room offered a clear view of the Santa Cruz boardwalk and wharf. We enjoyed our dinner there very much.
Very friendly staff, reasonable prices and delicious fresh food. We ordered yellow curry, chicken satay and pad thai. We are a bit of Thai snobs and we were pleasantly surprised with the flavors! They have a little bit of everything and would be easy to find something for vegan or vegetarian diets.
I would've given negative starts for this establishment. The food was awful, especially the RUBBER calamari used in the soup and the seafood salad. This was probably my worst dinner experiences ever. The place looked like an average ran down fast food joint, with some reminders that you might be in a Thai restaurant . The only edible item were the fried rolls appetizer. Pad See Ew pork version contained rubbery, seemingly few years old super chewy pork shreds. The staff and serving was ok, but the FOOD was TERRIBLE.
Amazing food! Great views!

Decided to eat here as this came up often as a vegan friendly restaurant. They definitely keep their word, as they give the option to make a good portion of the menu vegan if asked. We came to eat around 6pm on a Saturday night and was able to score great seating by the window. Staff members were very kind and personable. However aside from the convenience of being literally across the street from the beach and walking distance from the boardwalk, the food was alright. We ordered the yellow curry (veganized) and the salmon chu chee. Both entrees did not include rice and needed to be added on as a side. Our bill was $70 for two entrees, two side orders of rice, and three rounds of coconut juice. Price seemed extremely steep for the portion size and overall taste of both meals.
Ordered 4 entree plates..about $70...this is what we got. One plate had a chicken thigh that was cut in 5 peieces..cost $17. Two orders of pad thai that looked like panda express noodles and portioned like dollar tree frozen dinners. I do not recommend this place. Over priced. Panda express is better and cheaper. First and last time at this restaurant.
Every vegetable we were served was barely cooked, pretty mediocre food. Noodle dishes seemed to be the best. Staff forgot about our table, didn't bring us water until near the end of our meal. Overall friendly people and the place has good views of the ocean.
This is the most overpriced restaurant. Each of these dollar tree meals were around $16 each. Portions less than frozen dinners. Highly do not recommend.
I dined in with my boyfriend and we had pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp which cost $15.95 and a Thai iced coffee. Total bill is $21.52. It tasted good and was fairly standard. I gave 2 stars because of the service. A server who looked to be around the age of 50, gossiped us in Thai right after I finished ordering. She said “***** they came two people but order only one dish”. This is RUDE. Obviously she didn’t recognize that I am Thai! Also she didn’t serve us water. I used to be a server in college and we never treated customers this way!
