We got a really expensive soup... it was literally 6 pounds if bones and like maybe half a pound of actual meat on this 6 lbs if bones. Other than that, it seemed clean inside and the food was average.

The service is great! I was fasting and arrived half an hour early, the waitress was super kind and accommodated us early. She gave us plenty of time to choose and the order came perfectly on time - the food was good, nothing spectacular. I found the Korean fried chicken to be a bit on the sweeter side, the beef and veg stew had less beef than I had expected, but the free korean side dishes were pretty good - especially the fish cakes! The atmosphere was nice, and overall, nothing to complain about. Pricing is good, I would recommend Sesame if anyone's looking for a Korean place to go to in Santa Cruz!

Been here previously for a DoorDash pickup and had a very pleasant experience. Came back a second time—wish I could say it was a good experience but it was not. My order was never received by the store and instead of apologizing or attempting to still make the order right I was dismissed in an unfriendly manner and told to just contact DoorDash. It felt like I was treated as an inconvenience even when there was only one other couple dining in. Needless to say I won't be coming back

Okay it was decent for price eh I wanted to know why the soup tasted so tomato like unlike the dishes my North Korean (who was killed) friend would make me other than that presentation is great & good

Delicious, Inclusive, Friendly! I ordered the vegan-friendly Soon tofu soup with kimchi and mushrooms and it was a bomb (comes with rice)!!! My husband loved his crispy stone bibimbap with tofu and no egg! Banchan (side dishes) are complimentary and were refilled for us too (beware one of them is fish cakes). Other plant-based dishes offered too. If you prefer mild spicy level ask ahead of time. You can buy kimchi and other side dishes to take home!
I love going for the appetizers but the entrees are amazing as well. 10/10 everything!

This is one of the only korean food places in the area. I can’t say it’s the best but go here if you’re really desperate for some korean food. I got the traditional bimbimbap and it didn’t live up to my expectations - they gave us gochujang but no other seasonings (I feel like at least give us some sesame oil). Overall, it’s a mediocre place.

Placed an online order and I was very disappointed by the portion and size of container that was given. Seems like there’s more onions than meat. Paid 28 dollars for this small portion. And on top of that I also did not receive my drink that I paid for.

Last time we were here was maybe 10 or so years ago. The bibimbap we had then was excellent. My husband still says it was the best he's ever had. We usually go over the hill for Korean food, but decided to try Sesame again.
I was rather disappointed with their hot stone bibimbap. The beef had no flavor, and the spinach seemed as if it came straight out of a frozen bag. It was diced and had no flavor
Banchan (side dishes) were good with authentic kimchi. I did enjoy that.
The service was friendly and the ambiance was pleasant.
