DANGER!!! FOR FOOD ALLERGIES! The portions were fair and the food was OK, but my friend who was eating with us had a severe allergic reaction because the staff told us her allergens weren't in the food, when clearly they were. Luckily, she tested everything by touching it to her lips before eating, so she didn't quite need her epi-pen, but it was a really close call since we were inclined to trust the employees who told us the food would be safe for her. Her life would have been at risk and she would have needed to go to the hospital if she had trusted their word and started eating normally.

Great food, excellent service and inviting atmosphere. Whether getting take out or dining in the food is always good, and you get a lot of high quality food for your money. The staff are friendly, and ordering is fairly straight forward but you will need a phone. Having pictures of the dishes though is incredibly helpful, and I didn't notice anyone struggling to order with this system. Great for a going out with family or friends or grabbing a dish for yourself!

In my opinion, these low reviews particularly regarding service are laughable. It’s an authentic, no BS dining experience and you just have to roll with it. I ordered a beer and the man who brought it to me (who appeared to be somewhat in charge) asked for my ID and then started laughing maniacally (I’m a 50 yr old woman). Our waiter (we think) kept asking to sit at our table. It was actually hilarious. Don’t be so uptight, people: especially in this day and age and with everything that hard working people are going through in this country.
We all loved are food as well as our entire experience and can’t wait to return!

I have eaten at this place in person and the food was phenomenal. The reason for my three stars is I ordered takeout and the food was ridiculously awful. It’s as if they serve dine in and takeout customers different food. It really hurts me to write this review because when I ate, there was so great.

Delicious! An unexpected traditional find in Santa Cruz. Friendly staff as well.

We got spicy beef noodle soup, fish noodle soup, mapo tofu, cucumber salad, and eggplant + string beans. Portions were very generous, enough to take some to go.

We reached the $88 limit and got free soup dumplings :)

We came here because this place had great reviews. Unfortunately, only one menu item was worth eating - the spicy pan fried pork buns (these are not actually that spicy). They were perfectly fried on the bottom with a juicy filling and decent amount of soup. Add some vinegar and chili oil for a perfect bite.
The regular xlb was quite frankly inedible. First, the restaurant did not have ginger. What kind of Chinese restaurant does not have ginger? Especially a restaurant serving xlb? Second, the skin was thick and not cooked completely. Third, the pork filling had an off putting smell and texture. I really tried to chew and swallow the filling, but I had to admit defeat. The other items are not even worth mentioning.

Some of the worst service I’ve ever had in my life. First off, you walk in and get seated. They don’t even help you with anything and point to a QR code with the menu. The service inside is so horrible that you can’t even access the menu. They didn’t check on us once throughout our entire experience. Then, we ordered two orders of dumplings and two dishes. They forgot one of our dumplings and so we told them the next time we saw someone (which happened to be after we finished all of our food because they never checked on us). They started making a big deal and we said we didn’t want them anymore because we had already finished eating. They tried to give them to us 3 times after that and we kept saying that we had already eaten and didn’t want them anymore and just wanted the check. Then when they brought the check to us, it was included in the check. We told them to take it off because we never got it or ate it and again, that was a big deal. Then, when we got that sorted, they shoved a screen in our face asking for a tip. The whole experience was horrible. They also never even asked us if we wanted drinks or anything. In addition to all of this, there were fly traps in multiple places, which was disgusting.
