It's a good thing I didn't listen to all those recent reviews... we loved this place!! Came in right at opening, not gonna lie it was pretty empty and we aren't pool people, but we thought we'd have one drink and move on. Next thing you know we're watching a vhs of Point Break on a tiny TV, ordering amazing food...more drinks... and hanging out, playing chess, with the bartender Uvaul and Willie the chef! They made our whole evening... thanks guys... Cody and his Air Force buddies will be back!! It's a cool place with an easy hanging out kinda vibe.., if you're an easy vibe kinda person, you'll like it!

Its insulting to billiards to call this place a billiards bar. THIS IS THE WORST BAR/ POOL HALL IVE BEEN TO IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Save your time and money by not coming here.Terrible customer service and conditions. On top of that, it's extremely unsafe. The floors are uneven and its very poorly lit. THEIR STAIRCASE LEADING TO THE VENUE IS BROKEN, the first step is completely unhinged. Honestly surprised nobody has seriously hurt themselves. My friend and I came here on a Friday night, we went up to the young blonde bartender to reserve a pool table. We spent several mins standing there as she would not look up and nor acknowledge us so I went over to the young dark haired bartender with piercings and she was very rude. By that time the blonde, looked up and had given away the last table to another group. The dark hair bartender then tells us we have to wait for a table and I say no thank you we will be on our way after the other bartender gave away our table and the dark haired girl snaps at us saying its a short wait. After waiting 15 minutes I see a table open up, I walk back and to ask if we can use it and they said "oh we were just about to let you know." We finally get to our dimmly lit table that unlike every other table only has 1 light above it instead of 3. My friend and I searched every rack and could not find a single cue in the whole bar that had a tip nor could we find a single chalk. The cue ball was also full of dents so it would not roll straight. The bar itself was filthy, smelled stale, and had no decorations the walls were just empty. In the entirety of my life I have never seen such an awful pool setup. I've been to many ill-maintained dive bars in my life and let me tell you those places seemed pristine compared to this place. Don't bother coming here, I promise you it's not worth it.

Sat down at the bar to be blatantly ignored by the bartenders. So I left.

Bartender told us the pool tables were closed (at a pool hall?) but then started calling out names for pool table reservationsThis place also doesn't serve pitchers of beer (again, at a pool hall?)Staff were very polite, just seems like a really weird way to run a billiards place

Cool place. Drinks were good and fairly priced. There are plenty of pool tables to play on. Has a good restroom but only one.

I am a frequent visitor as I work across the street and live close. I am very disappointed with the staff. I and several older people were playing pool, and the bar tender turned the lights off, and when I requested to have them turned on, she told me I was being rude and that it was that way everyday! Then she told me that I was yelling at her, and she would not turn them on. So I went back to finish my game. Then I got a phone call from the hospital as I am a caregiver, for a lady that is in the hospital. I stepped out the back door so I could hear and this bartender not only told me to leave, but also told me that she will refuse me service. I will be floored of this situation results in my not frequently being able to play pool there. I would never be disrespectful and I get that the staff doesn't have to like their jobs. But that bartender is really uncool. She is also always drinking and pushing the booze on to her customers. Even to the point of taking shots with them! I have no problem with her drinking on the job , except that she doesn't have any self control. I really don't think she realizes how stupid she made both of us look, or the stress it put on me. The only reason I go to surf city is because I don't have any fun in my life, and that is why I play pool. I really do enjoy my time there, but I can't imagine how much fun it will be with the stress she has caused me.

The tables and dartboards are completely shot. The owners should have them

This used to be an old software development company called Haptek. It's weird seeing what used to be office space turned into a pool hall.

Really nice place, great atmosphere and great music. Spend three nights on the trot coming here. But unfortunately was let down by the waitress who finished at 8:30pm each night. Ordered 2 $6 beers only for it to come to $17. I questioned it but was told "it's tax". I later discovered that tax is 7% and she ripped me off by either tipping herself or ordering herself a drink on my tab. I didn't go back for the rest of my visit. Real shame as she let the place down by "fleecing tourists".So I would recommend going but beware this one bartender.

A great place to go if you like rude bartenders and terrible pool tables. The food is overpriced, but the explosive diarrhea is free. The high ceilings help hide the odor from the carpet never being cleaned. The star rating is higher than it should be due to Yelp removing (truthful) bad reviews.

The brunette woman in her 50’s is the rudest and most awful bartender. She got my drink order wrong and then blamed me even though it was her fault! When she gave me the drink I ordered it tasted awful. I was being nice but she was so obnoxious that my friends and I left. I see other bad reviews about her so I don’t know why she still works here.

Good atmosphere, mostly college age persons there. Besides 10+ pool tables there are darts and ping pong. On the night I was there, they put on a beer pong tournament that really drew in the crowds. The kitchen stops food service at 10 pm. I can't comment on the food, I never had any.The bartenders were fast with the drinks and seemed friendly. All the staff seemed to enjoy working there.
