I ordered one deep fried roll and waited 20 minutes. I heard the workers talking about my order and seemed like it was lost. I didn’t mind waiting, but the roll tasted like it was rushed and pulled from the fryer too fast. It wasn’t crunchy but soft. I would’ve appreciated if they could’ve communicated what happened and get my food cooked all the way. The workers seemed nice and the lemonade I slid for was huge. Maybe just a bad night? Idk if I’ll try again.

What a let down two different restaurants in the same day how can people eat this poor excuse for what they call food. Cold miso soup dry hard rice used to make my roll . Young kids working the restaurant without a adult supervision I don't think anyone there was over 25 . Everything and everybody that work there was dirty at appearance

Our favorite Sushi ! The front chefs are so fun to talk with & the flavors are fresh & full of all the right tastes. It’s the only sushi place we go ! ♥️

Dam don't you just hate it when you have a good spot to eat in your favorite's and you go back after some time away just to find out it sucks now. Me and my girlfriend stopped in on Labor Day for dinner we sat down and where served cold miso soup ok so we started to talking about the restaurant to each other and pointing out that all the servers and cooks where young teenagers and maybe a 20 year old or two no one that I could remember from the last time we ate there we both agreed to try out one roll of sushi just to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. We agreed to order the NYC roll the rice was hard the inside of the roll chopped up into a mush we paid for our meal and just left the restaurant so disappointed and the place was dirty from old grime

Food was decent but the service was terrible. Waited 45 mins after ordering for our appetizer to come out and then another 20 for our food. Felt like a slap in the face when people placing take out orders next to us were told it would be a ten minute wait for a similar order.Servers just stood and chatted in the back of the restaurant and didn't check in at all. Dropped our food off but didn't drop off any plates? I had to stare them down each time to get any kind of service.I eat out fairly often and usually never have any problem but I can say this has been the worst experience I've had. The food was decent but the service was just so sub par

Decent spot! I ordered the teriyaki chicken lunch special. It consisted of chicken teriyaki, rice, and a California roll. What worked:-- pretty tasty! I thought the rice in the California roll was nice and soft and the teriyaki chicken was good-- good portion size-- cute spot! Lots of photos on the walls and the theme was fun-- they gave me a free sticker! There's nothing more exciting than thatWhat didn't work:-- my only complaint is that I wish the meal came with a fresh element. Both the chicken and the California roll are pretty sweet so I feel like it needs something fresh or acidic to create balance

Went here for the first time today. Cute place. They cleaned it up from what I can see on the old pictures. It's pretty hip now. I got a lunch bento box. The food was tasty and good portions. Miso soup a little salty. Outside of that I had a great experience and will go back.

Yummy miso soup, I enjoyed the teriyaki salmon with rice and a side salad while my hubby had the Pink Dragon Roll. Outstanding! Friendly staff, nicely priced, excellent sake. Local beers.

Best sushi place in Santa cruz! I highly recommend it here. Food was excellent quality and DELICIOUS. Make sure to try the "a**hole" and "what the hank" sushi rolls. Laid back vibe with super cute totoro themed everything. Servers were also really nice! It's a small business with alot of heart. If you're ever in town, do yourself a favor and check sushi totoro out.
