We decided to try Jalapenos because the price of the taco was $3 something, far more reasonable than the $5 taco at another taqueria in the area. We walked in and were greeted. We looked at the menu and ordered 4 different tacos to compare. Chorizo was clearly the winner here. It was seasoned just right and I enjoyed every bite. The al pastor was just okay - it was subtly seasoned. The carne asada taco and the red mole taco were rather bland and required a boost. The salsas that they offered came in handy and added much needed flavor. The green salsa was oh so spicy and bursting with flavor, we asked for more. Service was friendly and I will come back for more chorizo tacos.

We were visiting Santa Cruz and I decided I wanted tacos, and the rest of the family ordered foster freeze. Walked in and the young man just stared at me and looked down with no greeting? I asked if I order through him and he said yeah. Ordered 3 chicken tacos and the meat was so weird it didn't even make taste like chicken more like ground turkey? I don't know what it was but it did not taste like chicken at all. I am Hispanic and know good Mexican food and this was not it at all.

My son and I found this establishment on yelp! So grateful to all the help users that point us in the right direction! If we ever come back into town we will certainly eat here again! Great food! Great price!

Pienso que JT es una buena taqueria! I like a taqueria that serves up Mexican food with a Mexican flavor. This place is a great value. The mild green sauce is tasty but the red sauce that comes with the birria is muy sabroso! Killer!

Still as good as when I ate here first in the early 90s

The food is amazing. Extremely authentic and satisfying. I HIGHLY recommend the Quesabirria.

The super burrito was delicious. There is only a small parking lot, so it is best to eat to go

Worth trying to find a parking spot ...there's only 3....

I cannot believe how arrogant and rude the guy is who runs the place. Normally I never write reviews. But this little runt has me on a mission to tell the world what a dick this guy is. First time there on Monday. As I'm trying to order, he is taking phone orders and helping Uber eats. After ten minutes and making sure he got my order right, I go home. Order is wrong and missing two items. I go back and set the food on the counter. He ignores me and continues helping others. I asked him if he could see me. Finally fixed my order. Sets it back on the counter. Not a word. Nothing. Rude as can be. F him and his tacos.

Meh...‍ The line out the door looked like a good sign, but it was just very slow service. To be honest the food was pretty tasteless. Like the blandest Taqueria food I have ever had. The fish tacos smelled like low tide which was disappointing since you can throw a rock and almost hit the ocean. The torta looked promising but the al pastor meat tasted like canned meat. The salsa was like a thin soup. It was a weird experience. The front server was super nice though.

Burrito came half warm and cold. It could have been heated up a bit longer.
