What happened this place? You'd think that it still standing when it looks like a bomb dropped on the plaza would mean it deserves it's place but holy guacamole save your stomach and go elsewhere! It used to be the best taqueria in town, now it's become lethal. I was served literally rotten meat yesterday... like carrion a zombie dog would have run from. I miss the old days of La Cabana when it was delicious and edible but at this stage in its death throes I implore you to avoid it. It's all bad now!

Not much to say other than it's hard to find good mexican food north of Los Angeles. I tried a couple of places on my trip up north, I'm from San Diego, and this location stands out as just not being good and flavorless. Fish tacos were smelly and soggy and other tacos were salty. Rice seemed to be minute made or quick rice. Just go eat something other than mexican food.

Literally our favorite taqueria in Santa Cruz! Enshrining they have is amazing but, their nopales is the most flavorful I've ever had. Their burritos are huge and all their ingredients are fresh and authentic. Even their Agua Fresca is good with added chia seeds to make it special. The ambiance is very authentic to a Mexican taqueria and they have seating both inside as well as outside. The service is friendly and they are always helpful too. We literally eat here every time we are in Santa Cruz and will even take a burrito to go for the road.

Really good authentic Mexican restaurant with nice vegan options. I was impressed with the vegan options and how willing the staff were to make menu items vegan! The restaurant was very cute and pleasant to be in and the staff were very friendly. I enjoyed the vegan options a lot and would definitely come back!
Been going here for years and this was the first time I was totally disappointed. The pinto beans were hard in the middle, completely undercooked, and the meat was dripping with grease. I hope it was a one time incident but I'm not excited to go back anytime soon.

Ordered 4 cabeza tacos. 5 bucks per taco. Not worth it at all. The cabeza just tasted like dry shredded beef. Regular size tacos. Down the street towards seabright you can get $3 dallor tacos that taste Way better. Burritos are ok .

Food is so fresh and beautiful every time. My partner and I have been regulars here for two or so years now and he loves it because it reminds him of his mothers cooking(she's from Aguas Calientes, MX). I recommend the squash blossom tacos but there's lots of great options for vegans and meat lovers alike! Love catching up and interacting with the owner Amalia and her lovely family. Will be continuing to visit here in the years to come!

My first visit to La Cabana Taqueria. Food was clean and fresh. I had two tacos shrimp and artichoke and the ceviche. So good. The counter staff was very nice and helpful with my order. The atmosphere had a great beach vibe. Definitely a place to visit. The prices are reasonable.
