The Fogline Farm chicken with jimmy nardellos (long red peppers) and creamed corn was one of the best bites of food I've had this year! Amazing! The flavors were amazing. Heriloom tomato toast was delicious and so was the garganelli pasta. We took a couple of desserts to go and the tres leches cake stood out!
We'll be back!

Words cannot express how much I love this place. The food is phenomenal every time. Flavors are mind blowing. Of the 10+ years I’ve lived in Santa Cruz this is my all time favorite place to eat. Love the atmosphere and servers are super nice. Chef always waves hello to our baby girl which always puts a big smile on her face. Highly recommend!

Incredible food, incredible service, cozy atmosphere. The chef was able to accommodate my friend’s dairy intolerance, and the menu was labelled with gluten free. I tried a Japanese vermouth that was amazing, a must-try. I had the halibut and my friend had the chicken, both were cooked perfectly, served with veggies that tasted like they were just picked today, cooked perfectly, mine with a light and flavorful broth. A new favorite in town!

Absolutely amazing meal. I’ve been driving by this place since they opened and hadn’t pulled the trigger on trying. Finally decided to give it a go, and the meal was outstanding. Everything was so high-quality, seasonal, and the flavors were so unique. I think that this place is on another level of food quality compared to anything else in Santa Cruz. It’s clear they put a lot of intentional effort into each plate. And I love the interior. It’s simple in its design but intimate and comfortable. I was swayed by the few bad reviews but I’m convinced these people don’t know good quality seasonal food. I will be telling everyone I know to come here and I’ll be back many times over!

My wife and I had lunch there today July 18. She ordered grill cheese and the tomato soup. Two hours later, she threw up continuously over three hours. I know it is due to the food because her breakfast was just her daily yogurt from Whole Foods. Something got into her food and made her very sick.
Fantastic! Very cute interior with a small changing menu focusing on hyper local ingredients. Everything was cooked perfectly and you can taste the quality of ingredients. I can’t recommend The Midway enough! Santa Cruz needs more places like this.

Long wait for to go order, people who came after me got served first. Got cheese, grilled cheese sandwich with asparagus. Um, yeah, overall way too salty. There was no asparagus in the sand which portion is extremely small over toasted, greasy and dry, not recommended disappointed. I would not come back

The quality of the food is good. Desserts seem to be their strength. Outside of that, we have found the menu to be monotonous, underwhelming and over priced. The atmosphere is cute at first glance; but is ultimately cold and lifeless. Service has been hit or miss. Tried this place a few times over the past year, hoping things would adjust. Unfortunately for the neighborhood, they have not.

Food is good, but not exceptional. As mentioned in other reviews, we left hungry. $30 for one sausage with barely anything else on the plate is not ok.
The room wasn’t too noisy this time but there was a draft due to AC and I felt cold the entire time.
Our waitress was courteous but uninspiring (not a single smile) and service was slow. It took a good 10min of us trying to get some attention before we could ask for the check. With two people tending a dozen tables that’s not cool.
