Just keeps getting better and better! I had the Eggs Benedict yesterday for lunch! I usually get their club sandwich because I love classic triple decker clubs and their club is SO good with their sweet potato fries! But yesterday was all about breakfast for lunch and I was so glad I tried the benedict! The eggs were poached perfectly! Their was no slim piece of ham, it was a ham steak! It was amazing! Their Hollandaise sauce was really good too! But in all honesty, everything we have had there has been wonderful! Breakfast, lunch and dinner, I just want to keep trying new things because so far everything has been wonderful! Their staff is so friendly and fast! Enjoy! You won't be disappointed!

We are so pleased with the 1889 Restaurant in the cute town of Santa Margarita. The folks working there are a charm, the food is delicious with a lot to choose on their menu, the win and beers tasty and the atmosphere warm, friendly and inviting!! Love this place and it’s only blocks from our home.❤️❤️
My husband and I stopped here to eat on our way home from vacation and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. Overall, a really good experience and we will definitely be back.

I went there for my birthday breakfast and it was so awful. I know that they can do a better job and I would give them another chance but not at those prices. My friend spent $30 just on me alone and it taste like… the worst country fried steak and gravy, Seemed like it just came straight out of a can and microwaved at the spot, Honestly, the worst I’ve had in my whole life. I am a chef and I’ve lived here locally for almost 30 years. I’ve never had such an awful breakfast. I am willing to give them another chance, but I’m not willing to pay for it.

1889 The Brunch Spot is hands-down one of the best finds in the San Luis Obispo area. Let’s talk about the $2 tacos—absolute game changers! Packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and that perfect street taco vibe, these are easily the best thing to hit SLO in a long time. You could honestly build your day around them.
The outdoor patio has this laid-back, Southwest feel that instantly transports you to a rustic Texas ranch. Sitting there, staring out across the street at the old feed store and weathered silos, you can almost hear the tin roofs creak and feel the charm of small-town Americana. The ambiance is pure comfort, with a mix of string lights, cozy seating, and country tunes setting the mood just right.
As “Your Man” by Josh Turner plays on the local radio, and a few Lainey Wilson tracks roll in, the whole place just radiates chill, country vibes. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and all that matters is good food, good music, and good company.
And here’s the kicker—it’s pet friendly! You can bring your furry best friend and relax on the patio, while they chill in a shaded spot just as comfy as yours.
The staff? Super friendly. The atmosphere? Authentic and relaxed. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot is a must-visit.

You’re looking for a good brunch, breakfast, or lunch, my suggestion is you try 1889 in Santa Margarita! My wife and I went for Easter lunch, and was greeted promptly. They even let it stay open longer than they would normally, just so they could serve us. My wife had the Jose burger, a side of sweet potato fries, and I had the fish tacos. Tacos had an excellent taste, and the burger was scrumptious! You can’t go wrong here!
