We were part of the Hall of Fame group on Friday night. Another wonderful experience. The food was great as always. I love walking through the lobby to our backroom. I hope they never change the look or feel of hotel.

Terrible service. Half of our order was forgotten. The food was below average and mostly overcooked. The outside patio is nice but overall a bad experience.

We recently had the pleasure of enjoying the Sunday Brunch here at the Century Room located in the Santa Maria Inn , Santa Maria CA. A fabulous experience awaits for those seeking a local buffet here on the Central Coast. Buffets here are not as prolific as Las Vegas, but the Century Room definitely satiated our desires. The ambiance is one of a more classic restaurant...white table cloths, seating in circular booths or tables with armed chairs for all, a fireplace and well lit paintings on the walls. Tasteful and sublime. To add to our experience, softly playing in the background was "Seriously Sinatra" music on Sirius XM...delightful! Our party of 4 was seated and to start the brunch off right, Mimosas were quickly brought to our table upon our request. Two rows of delicious looking offerings were presented for the taking. It was tempting to try all dishes...but even though the eyes are willing, we could only eat so much. Salads, Cheeses, Seafood, prepared Hot Entrees, Omelets made to order with your choice of ingredients, a Carving Station, as well as, a Dessert Table complete with a flowing Chocolate Fountain awaits all patrons. Although we agreed there wasn't a singular dish we would return specifically for...all the offerings were well presented, prepared and tasted good. The dining experience was completely satisfying and the service attentive. Everyone in our party, as well as, this Yelper agreed...on this occasion the Century Room in the Santa Maria Inn truly earned this "highly recommend" 4 Star review.

Had a wonderful BUFFET at the Santa Maria Inn except for the fact that i was charged a gratuity for 8 ppl they counted a newborn and a 2 yr old who didn't eat to make it a party of 8!!!! I wasn't not even told that they were adding a gratuity for a BUFFET!!!! $40 tip for serving a couple glasses of mimosa and then she kept bugging me to see if we were done so she can give us our check!!!! So disappointing!!!! $40 tip that wasn't voluntary for that!!!!! And I'm in the same industry and have been for 15yrs!! If anybody deserved that tip it was the bus boy who at least conversated with us as we sat in the patio. Pretty ridiculous!! It should also be written somewhere if it isn't that you add gratuity to a party of 8 even if one of them drinks baby formula!!

What a crappy experience. We stay at the hotel at least once a year & most always have a lunch or dinner at the Century room during our stay. This time is was really bad. This time we ordered from the lunch menu which at the top (see attached photo) has a "Share, Pair, and Taste" section to choose from. We decided on a bowl of soup each and to share a Wedge. The server, Jade did not tell us that if we split the salad there was a "split fee". The menu also does not state there is a split fee anywhere. I'm not making this review over the lousy $6 that they charged us, but because of the rude and outright nasty attitude Jade directed at us when the bill came. My husband pointed out the split fee and I told her she never told us there would be a charge and it does not state this on the menu. With a very snotty attitude she said, "well there's a split fee". My husband spoke to the girl up at the hostess area about the bill as well, and she told my husband, oh that must be a mistake. Let me talk with your server. When Jade came back again to our table, she said "I spoke to the cook and he says we can't take off the split fee charge". My husband asked to speak with a manager and she told us there is no manager. Just the cook and huffed off mumbling in a very unprofessional manner. We paid the bill and I waited up at the hostess station for her to come back so that I could ask to speak with the cook directly since he seemed to be the one in charge, yet I never saw him. I was at the front waiting for about 10 minutes and no one came back so we left... hence this review. If the top of the menu says "SHARE" and there is no mention of a split fee on the menu nor does the rude server let us know there is an additional fee, then this restaurant is being dishonest to customers. The fact that we nicely explained the situation in person to the server and got nothing but a rude return of excuses is not a way to treat customers. A manager or the cook (if he was "in charge") should have come out and spoken to us directly. This is not about six dollars. This is about this place having the decency to admit when there is an error and treat the customers honestly. I also work in the "hospitality" industry and if this staff was part of my team, I'd be embarrassed at the immature and rookie display of service they provided. Also, guy who was pouring water... chewing on a toothpick the entire time he was on the floor. Someone needs to teach these kids hospitality 101. As for the food, it's hard to mess up a wedge, but the soup was watery and pretty much all broth and no content. Maybe by the next visit to town, the staff will be trained to be decent servers, but until then, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. Enjoy the 6 bucks you took from us and our lousy tip. This could have been easily discussed and understood if the server didn't have such a chip on her shoulder.

The Century Room was able to accommodate our party of eight fairly last minute for a post-Cal Poly SLO graduation lunch after our original plan got scrapped. The restaurant is a lovely space-lots of dark wood and club chairs, Frank Sinatra singing in the background. We actually were seated at an elegant table in a beautiful and tasteful private room. More importantly, the staff was great. Very gracious. Special shout out to our server Christina (or Kristina?) who was tops.

Food: 3.75. Came by for their Sunday Brunch. We had a 10 am reservation. There was no wait to be seated. Our group of 6 were seated in a uniquely designed booth. Not a good seating situation for a buffet in which food is self serve. People on the outside had to move for the people on the inside to slide out. Offerings were limited compared to brunch buffets I've been to in the past, especially for $44.95 per adult which includes unlimited champagne or mimosas. Also, why no label for the offerings. I didn't know what some of the items were specifically. There was no crab or roast turkey. The carving station consisted of prime rib and ham. The items I enjoyed were the street tacos, bacon, made-to-order omelette, and waffles (with requested peanut butter) with syrup. One of our party said that the smoked salmon was really good. The shrimp cocktail was okay. I'm not an oyster fan so I can't comment on them. There is a chocolate fountain. Service was very good. Our server checked on us often and was very friendly. Finished plates were promptly removed. Ambiance is comfortable but I wish they had patio seating. Service: 4.25 Ambiance: 3.75 Value: 2

I believe I just had the most incredible dinner experience. We came in on the later end and the restaurant was sparse of guests. It didn't matter to the crew or manager- we were treated incredibly well. We ordered the ribeye and filet mignon. Both perfectly done. We were both very impressed all around.

The runny / watery eggs over easy, the cold English muffin, the rock hard butter, the not-quite-cooked-enough hashbrowns and the over-cooked pork sausage here at The Century Room almost says it all. What really says it is being seated by the hostess, followed by a greeting from the waitress who poured me a glass of water, looked at me then asked; "Would you like anything else besides water this morning?" As if I had just come here, sat down and gotten comfortable...only to have a glass of water. (* it might be time to work on a new opening line.) I understand that this used to be a local hotspot here in Santa Maria, but after what I experienced this morning, those reviews must've been from a bygone era...perhaps the LAST Century.

Great brunch buffet. Delicious food ranging from oysters to menudo. Classy decor. I made a reservation for prompt seating. Someone next door hired marachi so we enjoyed the bonus entertainment. Bottomless mimosas yumm

My dining partner and I shared the shrimp scampi and the sharing charge included separate salads. Highly suggest asking for the delicious blue cheese dressing on the side. The scampi was wonderful, service was attentive and excellent. The homemade bread was an excellent compliment. The Santa Maria Inn is a lovely weekend getaway.

Walking into the Santa Maria Inn is like walking back in time absolutely love the ambience, but I'm here to talk about the food and service. My family loves to come her for brunch and on special occasions. We have never been disappointed. The only time we were disappointed is when they had to shut down because of COVID. Since opening back up they have had to do things a little different but whoever is in charge made sure that the customers continued to receive great food and service. You can never go wrong when coming to the Century room for a wonderful meal and great service.
