Have been coming here since I was a child, the most authentic Japanese experience you can ask for in Santa Maria. Reasonably priced, kind and accommodating staff with an authentic Japanese atmosphere.

Pleasant service and authentic Japanese food. Reasonably priced and a great selection. Would return when in the area again.

I had high expectations for this place considering the other Japanese restaurants in the area. I ordered to go around 1pm and was told it would be a 15 minute wait which turned into 25 minutes. I ordered a lunch special at a good price, around 12 bucks however, the side soup was the best part. The sauce that came with my meal tasted a lot like A1 steak sauce mixed with something else. I liked the interior decoration. Willing to give it another go at a later date. Friendly service

1 food was okay. Donkatsu was not traditional japanese donkatsu, which was quite disappointing. Oyakodon was plain2 i liked the interior of the store. A lot of Japanese vibes! Pretty cool3 service was overall good.

They're lucky I paid for the garbage they served me. Calamari was impossibly tough and rubbery. Took me 4-5 minutes to chew my first and only bite of my Chicken Udon. Server said "well there's nothing we can do about it". Also everything outside of the small dining room they stick you in has worse ambience than a cheesy horror movie. I was seriously sitting by the emergency exit wondering if I should make a run for it or not, instead I paid $52 for inedible garbage, humiliating service, and a scary, unsettling atmosphere. Ended up going to trader joes and making my own chicken miso soup. Don't get trapped in this place like I did.

Food, nope. Service, nope. Atmosphere, nope. My boyfriend and I went to have a nice atmospheric dinner. We got the calamari and it was terrible so we told the waiter who said ā€œwell i can’t do anything about itā€. Okay whatever, then our entrees come, also terrible just so bland and poor quality but there was nothing they could do about it so we had to just pay the bill and leave still hungry. Never going back.

I’ve eaten here about a dozen times now. I’ll just say the food is very good, exceptionally good for the price. Today I had the chicken hamagozen lunch. It came with miso soup, gyoza, salad, along with tempura shrimp, broccoli, and carrots. All this and green tee for just under $15.

Fantastic. Some of the cheapest Japanese good I have seen particularly in Cali. Obviously not of the HIGHEST quality but don't let that deceive you into thinking it is bad. 10/10 would go again.
