Great value. Happy hour is reasonably price. Service could use a little upgrading. The place made the best of the current seating situation.

Service..or lack there of...left much to be desired. Food was ok, nothing special unfortunately. The atmosphere is relaxing &the lighting is good which is the only positive thing about my experience tonight. I won't return due to there being several other more appealing options in town.

By no means am I a huge fanatic of sushi but the surf and turf roll was just a huge disappointment and overly priced for what it is. The chicken teriyaki bento was also a major let down. The chicken was so gummy and had a watery sauce versus a thicker richer sauce. I also got my my bento first, then my roll about 5 minutes Iater. Five more minutes after that, I got my miso and rice. Miso should be served first, then the entree and roll.

Sushi, excellent. Service is excellent even when they are busy. Looking forward to a return trip.

Very elegant and accessible place. They serve big meals and for affordable rates. We enjoyed the food a lot and the staff members were super personal and informative. Highly recommended.

Sushi was fresh and was very good! Only downside, is they're pricey! But you pay for what you get, because the fish is fresh. Also, free sake shots if it's your first time there.

I absolutely love this place! I've been here a few times and it never disappoints. Menu is not overwhelming, and they have very unique finds. This last time our group had Rainbow Roll, Hildebrand Roll, Blue fin tuna sashimi, ono sashimi, monkey balls, fat shrimp, and edamame. Fantastic meal, service, and very aesthetically pleasant place. Can't wait to come back!

In comparison to other Asian restaurants nearby, Niya doesn't really particularly shine. First off, let me talk about the good. The happy hour drink menu is a great value, the place is definitely well kept up and the staff is great for the most part, but that is it. Now the bad... so this place is pretty pricey for the quality and quantity they serve. There food just isn't anything special and other sushi restaurants just do it so much better and for a bit cheaper. The happy hour drink menu is great but the food on there is lackluster at best. Finally the Ramen was really not good... this might be because I've lived in Okinawa for 3 years and might be a snob when it comes to Ramen, but they served me Ramen that was bland and it somehow had chard chunks in it. I really want to like this place to be honest, but it just doesn't really stand out. Hopefully they get some more experienced chef to turn this place around.

We ordered takeout due to the shutdowns. Called it in an hour in advance and asked for omakase for 2. We were very pleased with the chefs choices and the amount of food we got for the price point. I wish I knew what all we had but it was very good. Some fish felt higher quality than others but all was good quality. We got seaweed and some other salad, miso soup and rice, sashimi, nigiri and a baked roll. The only real complaint was the rice to fish ratio. We felt there was just too much rice in the nigiri and made the bite off. Fish was good but it got lost amongst the rice. The other minor detail was the lack of salt in the side of rice. Other than that the meal was plentiful and delicious. Excited for all this to be over so we can sit down and properly eat.

I have driven past Niya dizens of times but never stopped in. I decided ti have the PORK BENTO consisting of the following: PONZU SALAD | CALIFORNIA or CRUNCH ROLL | PORK BELLY | KABAYAKI | MIXED TEMPURA And a nice miso soup with tofu. The cruch roll was terrific and the pork belly was perfect. Everything was done right except for the salad, not fresh. But considering this is the ninth day into this Corona Virus shut down I can understand that. Considering they are only providing take-out service they have provided a remarkable level of execution. I'll be back.

This place used to be SO good when it first opened! We were thrilled to have a good sushi place in our little town to go to for birthdays and to take company to from out of town... Now it's awful! The sushi rolls are slathered in way too much hot sauce and mayo; made them almost inedible. The sushi rolls were falling apart and cut in all different sizes, and the service was terrible. The place feels like it needs a good deep-cleaning too, it smells and the tables are sticky. Over time the overall quality of the food and the restaurant have completely fallen off. The only thing redeemable was the edamame and the alcohol. We're bummed because we really loved coming here, but after the last two visits we won't be back. Hopefully they can turn it around.

Absolutely the best. Their food cannot compare to half off rolls elsewhere. Their plating is beautiful, service is attentive, and food is priced right. Definitely going back!

My boyfriend just moved to SoCal for work and we were out exploring places to eat. We are always in the mood for sushi and opted to try this place. It was a huge space, could definitely accommodate some groups. Our server was very sweet and attentive, as we were there during the last hour before close and things were slowing down. One of the sushi chefs was also very friendly and we all got to talking throughout our dinner. They gave us some complimentary things for being first timers / moving into town and we had a wonderful time laughing with them. We also saw the owner peeking out of the kitchen and she had apparently been the one to sign off on our free things so we felt very cared for. The food itself was yummy! We are from Seattle and traveled to Japan this summer so have had our fair share of quality sushi. This place is definitely a contender for our new favorite dinner spot. Thanks for treating us so well!
