I was visiting the Santa Maria area and really hoped to enjoy some tasty, savory, fabulous pupusas at Salvador Pupuseria. But when we arrived, the place was completely empty—only one person was dining there, which probably should’ve been a sign. We decided to give it a chance anyway.
I ordered cheese pupusas expecting that classic, rich flavor… but the cheese had a strange texture I’ve never experienced before. It tasted watered down, almost like a Monterey Jack that missed the mark. No flavor, no savoriness—just disappointing overall.
So if you’re in Santa Maria C.A. looking for delicious, authentic pupusas… this is not the place. Lol!
