Although the service can be a hit or miss, the pizza is quite good. This is a great spot to build-your-own pizza and the toppings are up to you! If you are in a group, this is a perfect spot to come get a few different pizza configurations. The red sauce is great 5/5.The toppings are you to you, so you can ask the makers to add more or less. 4/5The cheese is nice, there are a few options to choose from. The crust is delicious, but not always consistent. Sometimes the crust is more burnt than cripsy. 3/5

Great customer service. The food was cooked to my liking. Great atmosphere. Sherry was so kind and friendly to us. Will definitely come back soon!

We've eaten here multiple times and we are always super pleased and never disappointed. The double pepperoni pizza and chopped salad are our usual go-tos and we love both. They never get old!Coupled with the nice casual atmosphere & awesome service... it just has to be a regular haunt!

Wasn't going to have lunch, but saw this place and a sign for their lunch special on the way to the beach and felt nostalgic. We used to frequent the original 800 degrees is Westwood, it was open late and always had a good vibe. This restaurant is beautiful inside, service was spotty but where isn't it these days. Took some pizzas and salads to go and ate them looking at the ocean. The pizza is still delicious, better than most of the quick cooking places out there. Their wooden forks made it impossible for my kids to fork their salad and the straws are disgusting, but that's life these days.

Delicious pizzas and salad. Nice big space and friendly service. Super solid go to for my family

We ordered prosciutto di parma pizza! It was tasty! the employees here were friendly! The only reason I rate 4 stars is that some tables were dirty and trash was everywhere, and even the trash can was full!

If you are considering getting 800 Degrees at this or any LA location, don't. What was once the best pizza place I could recommend is now an embarrassment. I was a UCLA student when I first tried 800 Degrees at its (now closed) Westwood location. Westwood at the time had more than a dozen pizza spots, but 800 easily rose above the rest. 800 was known for its freshness, for its hearty yet thin crusts, its chewy mozzarella, and tasty meats. The leather booths and the sparkling chandeliers, paired with the dim atmosphere, made 800 a nice date spot, a great place to go after watching a movie, or a convenient spot for an after-class meal. If the pizza of the day was good, it really was a day to celebrate. Business is tough, especially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it does not mean that a business should cut every damn corner. With 800 Degrees in Santa Monica, it happens right when you walk through the main door. Better yet, you can't! This 800 is located on a lively, prime corner on 2nd and Wilshire, and yet, on a Friday at 7pm, the front door is locked and they make you go through the side door on Wilshire. Once you go in you'll see that all the chairs are up on the tables. Do they not want people to not eat there? Overall, the place is dirty, smells of Clorox, and is uninviting. That's before you eat the food itself. For some reason, this location dumps a ton of really bad, stale shredded mozzarella cheese on its margherita (and I mean the whole pizza is covered in cheese). That's not a margherita! I thought the Hollywood location was bad, but the Santa Monica location really kills any joy or nostalgia that was left in me for 800. It hurts to say this, because I really used to eat it at least once a week at one point, but I am no longer an 800 Degrees fan.

The pizza is amazing, When I’m in town we stop to eat here but this last visit will sadly be our last. The pizza was great, freshly prepared but it was boxed and you had to walk to a park half a block away to eat it. We were told somebody didn’t show up for their work shift, reason the dining room was closed. Interesting we saw three employees, last visit two employees were working and the dining room was open. Though the pizza was great it’s not worth the price, $35 for two medium pizzas if you can’t sit in the restaurant to eat it. Very expensive takeout pizza basically. The park as we sat down to eat the pizza had a huge pile of human waste three feet from the bench. Not how one wants to eat and enjoy a very expensive pizza. This location lost loyal customers who loved the pizza, guessing they also lost many others due to this practice.

Pizza was awesome. Nice location. Friendly staff. Prices are not too bad at all. 5 min walk to the ocean. Will definitely come back

Done with this place forever. I've been going to this place since 2019, and I've seen its quality go down continually. This place charges by topping, and they always try to short-change you by not putting enough of a topping. When I started going to this place, they had some of the best staff, but now many of the staff that cared have left, and the new employees never get enough training before they start making pizza. The current output of pizza is neither worth the price nor aesthetically pleasing. There are some exceptional employees here still, but I'm not able to predict their hours. If you're a visitor to Santa Monica or need someplace quick, then sure, check this place out and take a risk. But for a local or anyone that goes to this place more than once, you'll likely feel that they take you for granted and don't care. I held off leaving this review for a year because I remembered how much I loved this place in 2019 and 2020, but I've had enough. You've lost my business forever.

Visited yesterday evening. Terrible pizza and terrible service. The place was so dirty. Empty bins. Salad bar dirty was old vegetables and tomatoes all over the place. Arugula bin empty with few pieces of old rotten once in the bin. Employees very unfriendly!

Great tasting pizza, thin & perfectly crispy & cheesy. Fancy looking atmosphere but kind of strange and not very fitting, slightly dirty. I had the Margherita pizza, delicious.

Horrible customer service. I had one of the employees who has a tattoo on his left hand come out and specifically ask me to wear a mask. Whereas there are other people prior to me who were not wearing masks and they continue to give me attitude. I put on a mask, you should have equal treatment for all patrons.

The food was very good, but what makes me rate it for 2 stars was the customer service. My sister took a little longer to choose her pizza topping and the employee was so rude in rushing her. also I got to go back twice to get my order right even though I was trying to say thank you many times and they kept ignoringIn the end one of the pizzas crust was burnt

I used to come here often years ago when I lived in the area and it was always good. It’s been a year and something happened and it’s not the same place. The quality isn’t the same and they even lost my pizza and had to make a new one. I don’t know how that happens. Hopefully they can fix their issues.
