Sad. They advertise breakfast and brunch but actually don't serve breakfast after 12pm. They said they don't have two griddles but no where on the menu does it tell you that. The manager did not really seem to care when we questioned. We were parked and there before 12 but they didn't take our order till 12:10. Bad customer service, not gonna be a customer. When we said we were leaving and asked for our bill for the coffee we ordered and were served, the response was "I don't want your money". We left it anyway. Bad form!

Thanksgiving becomes a time to share with friends old and new every year when Back on Broadway (aided by Jewish Family Services) graciously serves a wonderful Thanksgiving meal through the sale of $5 ticket through a senior center located in Santa Monica.
OK place for lunch, pleasant back patio, nothing fancy. 4 different salads were all dressed with same lemon herb dressing even when bleu cheese was ordered for one. Sesame chicken salad was truly the driest, worst chicken I've ever had. Fries were good and crispy.

An absolute gem. Beautiful dining room, friendly low-key service, and most importantly consistently great food. I've come here for years with my mom, who is a SM local and it is always terrific, regardless of day or time. Consistency is an increasingly lost art in restaurantland (at all levels), so just wanted to say thank you and hope BOB flourishes for many more years!

I had a very unpleasant experience with their customer service. I came in first thing in the morning and the hostess had a rude attitude which I decided to brush off and not pay it any mind but seeing that I was the first customer you would expect more hospitality then what was given. A few minutes after checking out the breakfast menu I had a question about an item. Two customers were quietly walking in together while I asked the hostess if they had an alternative to milk for their oatmeal. The hostess completely ignored my question and decided to ask the two customers what they would like to do instead of would they like to be seated which would be the more courteous way to address them. It would have been even better to just let them know that you will be with them in just a minute to finish helping a customer with their order. So here is where the hostess just continued to be a j*** but not only to me but to these two regular customer who asked for specific seating which the hostess replied by telling them that the area in which they would like to sit can not be occupied at the moment. They immediately followed up by stating that they never have problems being seated there and that its completely empty so why may they no be seated. The two decided to ignore the rude remark about the area and proceeded to seat themselves in the exact seating they had just ask for and the hostess was at a loss of words so she just went right along with it and completely ignored me as a paying customer. This was by far the most unprofessional services I have witnessed in quite some time especially with there being no other customer but the three of us. I love supporting small local restaurants but this will be my last time stepping foot in here. I've only come here one other time but even then the service from the hostess was just not the best even though I came with a group of people. Our waitress was very nice and the food was ok so that made up for their lack of customer service at the front. Some times things happen but this seem to be an ongoing issue that has yet to be resolved.
