10/10 experience. Got the bread with cultured butter, mushroom, jalapeño dip, goat cheese, potato pasta, rib cap, and a pizza.

It was our 1st time there. Smaller than it looks in pics so I'd say it's a quaint place. Only a couple beer choices but decent amount of wine choices. The food is shareable which I prefer. The salads were sooo good! The 2 pizzas were sooo tasty. The bread with butter is light & airy. Sauces for the pizza crusts were a bonus.Parking: Next door lot is $25 for about 2 hours

This place has been on my radar for a few years but didn’t have the reason to go to Santa Monica at the time. The experience at Bar Monette is reason enough. Insightful, helpful, and personal service paired with excellent execution and timing of food with an unparalleled atmosphere. Go here.

Too dark to see the menu easily, too loud to hear the waitress clearly…no big deal. That’s just part of the ambiance. However, when the uniqueness of the recipes lead to an expensive meal where nothing tastes even moderately appealing…that’s a recipe for disaster. And that’s what the dinner was for me. A disaster. It’s been a while since I’ve left a restaurant as disappointed as tonight.

Pizza was good but not mind blowing. The dipping sauce for the crust was a fun addition but wasn’t really necessary. The gnocchi was the best dish we had.

LA MUST GO! Everything we ordered from the scallops to the jamon and the mushrooms were delicious. And the spicy calabrese pizza was SOO good. The presentation of the food was also a treat. The service was great, the ambiance was cozy and quaint, and the owner was as generous and kind as could be. We had an exceptional experience and will be returning soon.

Our experience at Bar Monette was fantastic. Upon walking into the restaurant the vibe felt welcoming yet exclusive. It felt like we stumbled upon a delicious little secret world in Santa Monica. Hallelujah was an incredible host and made our experience an even more magical one. The food was so delicious, our mushroom appetizer was seasoned to perfection and had the most amazing texture. The arugula complimented it well. The little gnocchi style appetizer was incredible as well! Soft pillowey and the best creamy sauce. Next was the truffle pizza which was literally brought me to tears. We loved the view into the kitchen where we could see the chefs creating their masterpieces. Our server was warm, kind, friendly, and made the BEST food recommendations- she did not lead us astray one bit. 10 out of 10 can't wait to come back again. We love you BM!

We four arrived as the small but pleasant restaurant opened at 5PM on Sunday. Our reserved table was ready. Our dinner companion is a well known local chef and restaurant professional. The very pleasant server explained the menu and took our drink orders with helpful suggestions. before any other guests had been seated we placed our orders, two starters and told the server that each couple was ordering their own pizza to share. The starters arrived and were quite disappointing. Small, overpriced and not as hoped for. Soon our friends pizza arrived. Ten minutes later ours had not and as I looked around pizzas were being served at two tables around us. It took five minutes to flag down our server whose response was that Bar Monnette had only a small pizza oven that could bake one small pie at a time. No other communication. We never did see our server again. The manager, greeting all tables, made his way to us and I again asked about my order. Same response and he moved on. After a half hour our pizza arrived. Looked lovely with a beautifully blistered crust. Unfortunately the rest of the pie was soggy. Very disappointing. When the manager again came to our table I did not respond to his "How was everything" with glee and we shared our experience. He then was appropriate in his response. He brought our check with dessert comped. Bar Monette will never see us again.

What a phenomenal experience all around. The host, whose name is Hallelujah, sets the tone as soon as you walk in. He had a great energy and made us feel welcome and comfortable. Every single dish that came out was perfect. The pear endive salad was nice and light, not too sweet. I don’t even like caviar, but I still ate the potato angelloti that had caviar mixed in with the sauce. The bolognese tortellini was so good. The wagyu was really nicely rendered, but still a nice temp. The pizza was nice and crispy. It’s been a while since I had a meal that good. Will definitely be back.

Teeny tiny in here which would make you think it'd be nice and cozy but it's not. It feels very clinical in there even with the beautifully paneled dark green walls. It's weird. The staff I'd give them 4 stars but they did forget to bring the 2 dips we ordered for our pizza crust Auntie's whatever radicchio: 3/10 it looks sort of like kimchi (wish it was) but it's got a sharp tart and bitterness Waygu: 10/10 the only reason I'd prob ever think about going back here Gnocchi:10/10 super soft and the creme on it isn't too rich Margherita Pizza: 7/10 it's very basic Dungeness Pesto pizza: 5/10 you don't rly taste the crab only a lil "oceanic" flavor but the greens they topped it with was a buzz kill.

Way too overhyped!! We came here after seeing all the TikTok/IG and left disappointed. To start we got the scallop. This was very mediocre. From the presentation to the taste, we were not impressed. It also had a very sour taste but probably due to the sauce. Then we got the wagyu which my friend was most excited for and while the meat was super buttery and fat, for me, it was too much. My friend loved it tho. But I would've preferred actually tasting the meat without all of the overpowering sauce too. Finally we got a pizza cause we heard so much about it. We opted for the truffle one since that one seemed popular. This was by far the most disappointing. There was drizzled honey over it and it felt like it was drowning in honey. We couldn't taste any truffle. Just pure sweetness. Definitely don't get this one. For the crust dip, we got the honey aioli and chili oil. I was really hoping for some kick but again, we only tasted the honey. Definitely not worth it. Overall if you like your food to be super sweet and overly rich then you'll like it here. But we were so disappointed.

Really impressed with the pizza here. Perfectly seasoned and the crust was to die for. The wagyu was also really tasty and perfectly balanced. Really good wine selection too, definitely worth the drive to Santa

First time at Bar Monette last night. Great food! My fiancé and I ordered Peronis on tap, Aunty Wendy's Terviso salad, Potato Agnolotti, and a Truffle & Aged Cheese pizza. Highly recommend the pizza. The rich cheese flavors and honey truffle are the perfect combo, and the crust is fantastic! I personally loved the passion fruit salad! My fiancé liked it but could only eat a few bites as he was thrown off by the tartness of the dressing. We both liked the Potato Agnolotti but will pass the next time we visit and try something different. For dessert, we were hoping to try the Burnt Orange Cake, but it wasn't on the list read verbally by our server. We ordered the Dulce De Leche instead. It was good, but we ended up eating it for breakfast because we didn't realize it contained espresso. The place is very small and dimly lit which gives it a warm inviting feel. The music was nostalgic, a mix of old school hip hop. Service started out great but was a little slow near the end. Overall, we really enjoyed the staff!
