Must try burger and sandwich institution in the West LA / Santa Monica area. No frills, no nonsense, downright delicious fresh food. Everything is good on the menu. The people are warm and welcoming. The go to for me is the grill chicken burger with avocado. If I’m extra hungry, I go for the double chicken burger w/ avocado & cheese. Falls in the ranks of must try LA burger stands, such as Marty’s, etc.

The food is fine, but the burgers taste the same quality as you would get at In-n-Out or Carl's Jr, which was honestly disappointing given the big hype it gets. Also it's definitely not worth the price; $9 for the mushroom burger and it's $1.50 to add cheese to their submarine sandwiches (Jersey Mike's or even Subway tastes better in my opinion, and you actually get a lot of toppings compared to the subs here). The fries are the thick-cut ones fyi. They have steak sandwiches, so maybe that's where all the hype comes from? We just had the mushroom burger and turkey sub, so if you're looking for a burger or sub maybe go elsewhere.

Great breakfast sandwich. I ordered the BEC sandwich served on a burger bun, excellent with the chili peppers on the side.Pro tip: add a hash brown & you will thank me later!!!

Feel pretty ill 30mins after the pizza steak. Maybe better for sandwiches or burgers. $10 for sandwich. Been here a long time so I will try again. Might have been unlucky!

Haven't been to Big Jo's in a couple of years. I was happy to taste that its hasn't changed much, delicious! I get the cheeseburger combo ? You can now pay with your card at Big Jo's.

you ever wonder why a place has been there forever? it’s because it’s killer. don’t ever change.

Cheeseburger is not the same. My bun was really dry and hard, and the meat was overcooked. Not worth the long wait.

Soooooooo good! I used to work a few blocks away and would go at least once a week. Now if I'm within about 3 miles I will detour over to Big Jo's. It's a dive hole in the wall that you know will be life changing - good or will kill you from being so bad - but this is the omg this is amazing you have to try it. Personally I love their cheeseburgers so much that when I would try something like their egg breakfast sandwich (which is awesome) I would still need to get the cheeseburger later that day - so sometimes I would get a cheeseburger for breakfast. The fries are fluffy and crispy - the seasoning perfect, and it's just a comfort food greasy spoon. The people working there are really nice and you just won't regret it. They have some parking and outdoor seating, and will give me a lettuce wrapped burger so it's keto style (I don't get fried when I'm eating keto). Mmm now I think I need to take a trip there asap!

I honestly do not know why people give the cashier bad marks for customer service. To me, she was just direct and quick. There is a line of people and they are trying to get food out for everyone who is hungry. It’s not a difficult concept to understand.Show up to the counter and the cashier will take your order when you have made up your mind. Don’t be deciding what you want when you are at the register. Because then you will feel rushed. Simply step away, look at the menu, and then step forward when you are ready to order. If you have any questions about the menu, narrow it down to a few choices and ask the cashier for her recommendation. Again, not a difficult concept.Service was fast and efficient when I went. Asked for her recommendation and she said either a cheeseburger or a bacon cheeseburger. I asked her to pick one for me. I also asked her whether I should get chili fries or regular fries, and she said since it’s your first time just try the regular ones.it’s a basic burger but it is solid and reliable. The prices are very reasonable and the size is good for the amount of money you are paying. I got my order in less than five minutes. Will be back.

A FROZEN PATTY?!?! A frozen and thawed patty ?!?!?!?! I'm freaking shocked ! Close this place down !!!!!!! I think I should've been given a disclaimer after I paid over $15 AND tipped !!!! I'm so so sad about this cause I'm broke and hungry so I have to eat every bite but I wouldn't even feed this food to a houseless person who was starving. I mean grill marks with no grill !!!! At least get frozen Pattie's without the grill marks !! Come on! Meat quality worse than Burger King!

Had been recommended by a friend. Love the bacon cheeseburger and I am never able to finish my fries. I never realized how important that was until it happened :)

What pleases most of all is fast service, convenient location and respectful attitude of staff towards customers. Nearby paid parking, where you can always find a free place. Assortment, like in any other Burger King. By ordering your favorite dish, you will get what you expect. Come here after visiting the zoo, especially with children you can't go wrong!!

Great and affordable spot for burgers and sandwiches with a few veggie options. I had the mushroom and swiss burger but subbed in a Gardenburger patty and it was perfect, as were the crispy fries.
