Doing tofu and mushrooms this well is VERY RARE. Most places miss the mark on the tofu marinade, and it can be bland. Not the case here! Bun & Mi are able to work umami miracles with the mushroom tofu noodle bowl. The vegan sauce (vinaigrette) is balanced and intentionally subtle but perfect in acidity and salinity and depth.
They clearly are a mom/pop place, with exceptional quality control. They have crushed ice, filtered water. This may sound like a strange thing to remark, BUT it makes all the difference! So many places are not paying attention to the little details, serving tap water that tastes like it came out of a fish bowl. This place is giving you a very intentional, humble and delicious meal. Doing a few menu items and doing them well!

Charming Bahn Mi counter in Montana Street. Alvin owns the place with his wife. He was lovely-welcoming me warmly. Had a wonderful Noodle Salad with Saigon Grilled Chicken. Delicious. A huge portion and I couldn’t believe I ate the whole thing. A perfect place for lunch or an early dinner!

Probably the best restaurant Ive been to in a really long time. The food was phenomenal at a reasonable price. I had the bork belly and grilled chicken banh mi’s, the buns had a great crunch with a soft inside and fantastically fresh ingredients. The customer service was fantastic, you can tell the owner gets to know customers, he knew several people by name during my time eating here. MUST TRY !!

I asked for the shrimp spring rolls without pork, happy they were able to accommodate. Very fresh spring rolls and tasty peanut sauce. It’s a bit more pricey than I’m used to pay for spring rolls but it’s a cute space I thought it was worth it.

Got a tofu and mushroom sandwich to go. I didnt even go more than 10 minutes and the sandwich is very soggy. The pickled carrot ( very little daikon) was not good. Not even at pickled. Bread was mediocre. Worst banh mi i had so far. Will not return.

From emailing about allergies to being late on the day of pickup and everything still being hot and perfect - an incredible 10/10 experience. All of the food is INCREDIBLE, got rave reviews from the entire party and tons of leftovers for everyone to eat later. Can’t wait to come back later.
