Sufficient parking, lighting was good. Seats have backrest.
This is a nice track that has public use hours. I came here to train on the track with the help of my boyfriend during the public use hours and there were a few people on the track and two groups playing what looked like flag football. My boyfriend sat at the very edge of the field where he wasn’t in anyone’s way, reading the book I was using for my track workout. A woman approached him while I was running and said she was a coordinator and started questioning him. She asked if he drove to the field, and when he said yes she asked if he could read in the car. He replied that he was helping me train, and then she said it was fine for him to be there. I just think if a place is open for public use, you shouldn’t be questioned and made to feel like you aren’t welcome. He wasn’t bothering anyone and I felt like it was pretty clear he was there with me as we stood talking together multiple times. Telling him to read in the car was just completely unnecessary and rude in my opinion. This is the kind of thing that makes people anxious to use publicly available resources.
Needs a snack bar
I've run hundreds of miles around this track and I can confirm it's one of the tracks ever.
It was hot. I was attending my daughter's college graduation. Sitting in the bleachers directly in the sun. No breeze. Nice ceremony.
No Disability access, further more the parking is 5 feet from field, but they make you walk 1/2 mile, even disabled, to side of stadium with no parking. And there are no signs to tell you where to park, or how to enter and then make you buy tickets online after your 30 minutes adventure on your phone while standing there at gate......plenty of permit parking available though!
A beautifully managed event. A bit overcast and chilly but the firework display more than made up for it. We've gone before and we will go again. Thank you!
Good track
Very open. There's a track to run and jog on.It is very well lit at night.
The American football field is part of Santa Monica College.

Celebrate America! What a great time. Thank you, SMC, and all of the people who make this happen.
I was at smc for the fireworks show. From just walking in, the security were friendly and quick to search the things I brought for my group.I wasn't super early and there were already a lot of families establishing their grounds for the night. There was a lot of room. The mc and band that played kept the energy up, really setting the tone. The show itself was great. A ton of fireworks.Parking was great too.
