One of the great iconic restaurants in Santa Monica, and of course, founded by the awesome founders of The Ivy on Robertson!!!! Absolutely spectacular restaurant!!!!

I would come from New York, to shoot ads and product promotional for network television.
We would shoot in various locations, but to be honest having to wake up an extra hour for staying in Los Angeles proper. Santa Monica was a much better choice to travel to locations on the coast.

It was nice to go to The Ivy at the Shore, as I was staying in Santa Monica. I normally go the the Robertson location. Our lunch was delicious and the servers were exceptional!

Great ambiance, service, location. Food excellent. Prices reasonable for Santa Monica and location on Ocean Avenue. Will definitely go back.

Food over priced. Soft shell crab was so greasy that I could eat only a quarter of the meal

We come from Canada often and have been to the Ivy a few times. This time was not as pleasant as others. We felt very rushed from the moment we sat down. We ordered a cocktail each, 3 apps, 2 mains, and a bottle of wine and were in and out before we could enjoy anything. The food was delicious as always but I think the service staff just wanted to get out of there. Disappointing when you expect to have a nice relaxing meal on vacation.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner last night. Everyone was happy with their meal, the service was attentive, and the ambiance was lovely.

Service and food were outstanding. Corkage charge of $40 per bottle is overpriced. Wine list is ok. Parking at $35 w/o validation is high. $20.06 with validation is also high. Public parking next door is $10 (look for the sign)

It was a quiet Friday. The service was impeccable! The food was not as good as the last few times... notably the crab cakes were over fried. Still a great place at the Santa Monica Beach!

The seafood here is absolutely outstanding. The branzino was perfectly prepared — delicate, flavorful, and cooked to perfection — and both the crabcakes and calamari appetizers were excellent. There's an impressive wine selection to complement the meal, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. This is, without question, my favorite restaurant in Santa Monica!

Charged for “complimentary” scones and publicly shamed by the floor manager.

I stopped by Ivy at the Shore because the patio looked lovely and I wanted a coffee. The host initially said patio seating required ordering lunch. I politely asked again since the patio was empty, and we were seated outside.

We ordered two mocha lattes. A black coffee was brought by mistake and taken back. A little later, scones with butter and jam arrived. I initially thought it was another mistake, and told the server we hadn’t ordered them, and was told they were complimentary. Both the lattes and the scones were very good, and the atmosphere was relaxing until the check arrived.

The bill included a $12 charge for the scones. I mentioned we had been told they were complimentary and asked why we were being charged for something we didn’t order. The floor manager came over and handled it in a humiliating way, loud enough for others to hear. He implied I didn’t have the money to pay for the scones and said the scones were only complimentary with lunch. He said you shouldn't have eaten them and also said something to the effect of, “I shouldn’t have let you in here in the first place.” I explained this wasn’t about the money; it was about transparency and being charged for an item I didn’t order in the first place, presented as complimentary.

What could have been a pleasant first visit became one of the most embarrassing experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. Please be upfront about patio policies and any conditions on “complimentary” items, and treat guests with the very least basic and expected respect.

Has a lovely brunch here while on vacation in the Los Angeles area. Service was impeccable with a very friendly and attentive wait staff. We had the huevos rancheros which were perfectly prepared with very tasty, fresh salsas and homemade corn tortillas. All was beautifully presented and the ambiance is lovely overlooking the Santa Monica pier/beach area. You definitely pay up for the beautiful location, but felt it was worth the spurge for the experience.

The Ivy by the Shore is a sister restaurant to the original Ivy, and it upholds the same high standards beautifully. The food, service, and atmosphere were all perfection.

I have dietary restrictions and did not want to feel rushed. I was taken care of impeccably on all fronts. I was seated on the terrace overlooking the shore, which made the experience even more special. The food was delicious, and the service was as lovely as the setting. From the valet and the host to the servers and even the bus staff, everything was handled flawlessly.

In a part of town where the boardwalk can feel chaotic, with vendors and the occasional wandering passerby, The Ivy offers a true respite a place of good taste, care, and calm. My Americano was perfectly prepared, and the tuna tartare was excellent.

An absolute gem in Santa Monica.

What a wonderful place to go to enjoy an evening of beautiful food, drinks and atmosphere. The branzino is the best in the city and the food is consistently great year after year. Can't wait for next time.
