Since you will end up spending $50-$200 here if you’re in Santa Monica for any amount of time, the savings are nice. Works out to one free full bagel gravlax with the works for every $100.
I did a side by side of bagels at Jyan Isaac and bagels from Layla which is located next door. As I expected, JIB is an obvious winner in taste, presentation, service, and craftsmanship. There is no competition here at all. Next door is okay for bagels if you like to wait in long lines for mediocre food just because a TikTok influencer told u to.
Love their city sourdough loaf, so soft in the middle and comparable to Tartine’s country bread. Their house-made mixed berry jam is very good with it. Really glad they’re on DoorDash so you can skip the long lines and just have fresh bread/pastries delivered to your home!
