I ordered the Korean kang Jung (chicken bites) and my husband ordered the chicken bowl (with rice and katsu bites). Portions were plentiful and delicious. When visiting the area again, we will not hesitate to order food here. It was excellent!

Fast casual spot serving katsu sandwiches and noodles. Came here for lunch on Saturday with my boyfriend, who wanted to try the Palms n’Patties next to it. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The restrooms are located in the building next door. You pay at the counter first and then receive your food. I had the katsu eggplant with udon noodles. Each piece was perfectly fried and the thick udon noodles complemented it perfectly. The food came out piping hot. They have lunch specials and credit cards accepted. Metered street parking.

Katsu Bar – Santa Monica
📍 3032 Wilshire Blvd, Suite C
If you’re craving crispy perfection between two buns, Katsu Bar delivers in spades. I tried the Original Katsu Sandwich with waffle fries, and wow—each bite was a symphony of crunch, tang, and tenderness. The panko-crusted chicken was juicy, the berry sauce added a surprising sweet twist, and the pickles brought it all home. Bonus points for the fries: golden, seasoned, and addictive.

The vibe? Casual but thoughtful—there’s even a mini-library where you can swap books while you eat. Service was fast, friendly, and the portions generous. Whether you’re a katsu connoisseur or just hungry in Santa Monica, this spot deserves a visit.
Must-try: Rosemary Katsu Sando, Crisscut Rose Tteokbokki, and the Hot Chicken Sandwich (if you dare).

This business charges $2 extra ONTHEIR OWN WEBSITE on every item!
When pressed about it owner Alex refused a partial refund and justified his shady business practice by saying the website is run by door dash. However this is not advertised. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE IF YOU WANT THE FAIR PRICE

One of my go to spots in Santa Monica. Great value, great taste, great service! There are bowls for $9.99 and it’s such good value 😳 The menu is big, ranging from noodles to sandwiches, and of course, Katsu! There’s also a free parking lot right next to the restaurant so it’s very convenient. 10/10!

For the price, quality, and flavor, there is just not a lot that beats Katsu Bar. It’s always been there for me, after school, work, gym, etc. So consistent, friendly staff. Nothing to say but positivity. I must recommend the Katsu Sando on Rosemary bread. Absolutely heavenly with a side of curry. 100/10

I ordered the mushroom katsu and it was extremely oily and the sauce was too sweet. It tasted like someone put sugar in vegetable oil. I went in to tell the owner? And he wanted to not give me a different dish at my first request and explanation. First he tried to say that I ate it, I did not. I took a bite from on the cuts of the sandwich (you’re served a sandwich cut into 3) and let one person I was eating with try it to see if they wanted the sandwich. After a while of him arguing with me, saying that he’s not Costco and doesn’t give samples and restaurants don’t take food back because he can’t resell it since I ate it (What?! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a restaurant take food back once it’s left the kitchen)?!!! I told him I’m not asking for a refund just to change the sandwich and the sandwich I was asking for was half the price and a smaller dish than what I had ordered. After all that he finally handed me the sandwich I requested which was already pre-made! He didn’t even have to make it. The customer service here is eh at best. It’s crazy when the front register person has better customer presence than the owner, like what. This is a ripe off of kojima and coco curry. I recommend people go there. Its fast casual so they left tables dirty. (I get small businesses budgets can tough but I was trying to work with him on just bad food, and all of what he could work on like customer service or a clean restaurant he wasn’t.)

I was hoping to eat the same delicious waffle fries but this time I was so disappointed. Fries and the katsu batter was so disappointing-- frozen too long and maybe even refried too many time? My jaw hurts after trying the waffle fries and the katsu burger. I hope they improve, I missed the fries I had when they first opened.
