Hi we visited Lanea a lot and love it but it’s all about people. Most bartenders are fantastic… but Saturday night one bartender was really rude to my friend. He insisted my friend is drunk or (it was so noisy we barely heard him) just telling drink water. We got water and called him again just to hear same pitch. We called other bartenders, they were rude redirecting to him. We called him again and he arrogantly ignored us. We were not really drunk and never had bad experience in Lanea. We never had such experience in any bar or night club. To be honest sometimes you drink a lot and bartenders respect you but Saturday night we were not like that and team’s attitude was terrible. I’m not sure if we ever return.

Super cool vibe!! First time here, the place is super cute and Ian is INSANE!! Best drinks ever, made me feel like I was right at home and just coolest vibe ever. Needs more clout tbh, I love it here 🕺

Had a great Karaoke session here with my husband while we were on a 14 hour layover. It was the only place that still was serving food, late night on a Thursday. Mighta got into the tequilla, how could I not lol! Even brought out a fishing rod and got in the boat (we planned to fish off the pier). Paulina, the bartender, and her crew were wicked. Thanks for the impromptu great time, you put us 40 year old Canadians to the test - i hope we passed! Till next time!!

fire tacos, some of the best I’ve ever had. amazing music and the vibe is incredible definitely one of the best restaurants in Santa Monica and def one of the best spots to hang in downtown Santa Monica. Food is so good it’s more than worth every penny. Can’t go wrong w/ the carne asada tacos 🙌🏼 gotta get the gauc as well it’s too good.

Bizarre experience… At all, you can eat tacos tonight I was served one order and cut off.. When I queried the manager on the freshness of my draft beer, he acted as if he was insulted and promptly cut me off.. Hoping to get a song in on karaoke night, the DJ was 40 minutes late in starting and I didn’t have the time to sit around and wait… When I asked about why I was cut off after 50 minutes on all you can eat taco night she showed me that I had ordered the tacos at 9:04 and at 10:15 She insisted it had been 90 minutes.… So when I disputed the bill and asked it to be itemized, I suddenly encountered rudeness from a short, overweight bartender, who informed me that it wasn’t her fault, but the managers who had cut me off and left the restaurant. I won’t go further into our conversation about getting an itemized bill that reflected the lack of service and my confusion over the whole visit being inadequate, But it seems as if these people are anything but hospitable, especially to a new customer who lives in the neighborhood. When I stopped in on another night while out for a walk on the promenade, they informed me no pets were allowed after I had been there the previous week with a pet… The manager on duty not only turned me away, but barricaded the entryway so I couldn’t take a step inside with my small dog. For a place that’s trying to build clientele in downtown Santa Monica. I can’t imagine they’re going to get too far treating new customers like they treated me. I was stunned at the rudeness.

This place you wanna go to catch a buzz before you go out it’s not really some place to hang out but they do have pool tables and there’s a lot of food shops all the way around all in all it’s very convenient and good place to hang

Great vibes!! The space was super comfortable and the DJ was good. The drinks were super yummy too. The only negative was the bartender. 3 of us ordered the same drink and it was made differently each time. When we questioned it, seemed like he didn’t really care. Also felt like it was hard to get his attention. However, nice bar.

I had to answer but I never had the food in fact I've never been in the establishment except tonight but when I walked in I was told I was 86 to week before I've never been in the place I showed my ID and said no I have never been here I went to meet the friend I normally don't go into 20 something year old bars I'm 61 years old The manager knows because he sees me walking to the old bar down the street all the time I wave in him and say hi and tell him to have a nice night he knows it's me he's got kids out there drinking in the street he's always serving drunk people and you just it's an idiot He sells me that He likes the 25-year-old kid manhandled me and I told him what happened he knows who I am cuz you see me walk by I've said we're bending yourself before and you know it I will pass you all the time and see I know so he stick up for the kid let the kid beat me you know hurt me and injured me and the idiot just stands there I said no way I'm not taking this Don't go there these people just serve drunks it's a bad bar they're bad people wrong. Who picks on a old lady what's up with that????
