Sorry but I’m a former New Yorker who knows good bagels… This place has a big line, great reviews but why? Hands down one of the worst bagels I’ve had. Texture is stale like it’s a day old so not sure they’re making these fresh. Lacks good flavor, lacks good chew. The outer skin flaking off - not a good crust but maybe because it’s stale. Disappointed. Makes me wonder if people who rated well have just never had a good bagel…

Very yummy, so glad they have vegan cream cheese. Just a bit pricey, and you have to stand around waiting for a table if you go on a weekend.

Service and the place itself is very nice and cutesy but the bagel bread is tuff and the coffee and food just is mediocre. Pretty for pics tho!

Best bagels in LA. Always hit the spot. I love the plain bagels with cream cheese but they also have so many cool specialty bagels I feel like you can't get anywhere else in LA. It's usually somewhat busy but I preorder most of the time which makes the whole process much easier so I recommend doing that. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I recommend Layla for anyone who wants a delicious bagel that keeps you full!

So delicious! Pickled onions nice touch with the smoked salmon, dill and capers. Bagels are perfectly crunchy on the outside and not too doughy inside. Best of all, they have vegan cream cheese and oat milk for coffee. Considerate and YUM!

I’ve tried bagel shops in New York and all over, and I can honestly say these were the best bagels I’ve ever had. Perfectly chewy, fresh, and full of flavor. I ordered a variety: The B.A.T. (bacon, arugula, tomato with aioli) was crisp and savory, the Laika (smoked salmon, tomato, cucumber, pickled onions, capers with herb cream cheese) was a classic done to perfection, and the Samson (tuna salad, avocado, tomato, dill) was fresh and filling. Sammi’s Egg Sammy (scrambled eggs, aged cheddar, and arugula with chermoula) had so much flavor, while the Scarlett (heirloom tomato, lemon zest, chili flakes with cream cheese) was simple but bold. The Pre-Jam stood out — I really liked that it uses seasonal fruit instead of being fixed, which makes it feel creative and different each time. Every bagel I tried had its own personality, and honestly, not a single miss.

Great spot. Bagels are fresh, toppings are generous, and the vibes are good. Quick service too. Highly recommend!

Tried Layla Bagels for the first time. I got the Prejam and the Lily, and both were really good. The Cream Top Matcha, though, wasn’t great. the cream had a strange taste and the matcha itself was just okay.

The shop was super busy around noon. All the seats were taken and there was a line out the door, so it’s not the best spot if you’re planning to sit and eat.

Overall, I might go back to try some of the other bagels, but I’d definitely skip the matcha next time.

Besides bagels and coffee, they sell a small selection of culinary goods that make great gifts, such as Sqirl jam, Spirit looseleaf teas, crunchy peanut and date butter, and packages of Sockerbit sour gummies. Very limited seating, often crowded.
