Tried for the first time in order to support local restaurants during the COVID Pandemic. The food was wonderful, all of it. Will definitely be back. Pollo-a-las-hierbas was delicious and the Napolitano steak sandwich was unique and tasty and large. Thank you.

I had a thoroughly mediocre NY steak here. It looked gorgeous, but tasted like nothing. Empanadas were good.

This is one of my favorite restaurants ever. Definitely a great place to take a date. Anything you order will be delicious. I've had the pasta, the steaks, the salad... all amazing. One time my waiter asked me if I would like any side dishes with my entree, and I said "uhh, mushrooms?", not even knowing that they were on the menu. Those were the best mushrooms I have ever had. I was amazed. Do yourself a favor, try this place. Great cocktails too.

Super yummy. Love it. The steak is super flavorful. Up to the Argentina standard. Seafood pasta. Very good with a lot of real seafood. The bad part is that they don't have spicy sauce and their own version of spicy sauce tastes strange. Grilled veggie. Very well done. Ceviche. This one is not as good as the Peruvian one. No sour or much flavor. The area is a bit sketchy with drunkard and weird people arOund when I walked out after dinner

We only had a couple glasses of wine, but the service was great, and it smelled amazing, I’m sad we were not there for a meal. Can’t wait to return. Every plate around us looked fabulous.

Came for Valentine's since the place we had made reservations for said the served only a pre-fixe 3 course meal for $200pp on v-day. Hubby and I decided it was not worth it, looked around for other places to eat at 2 weeks before v-day which isn't easy hahaha finally came upon Malbec and was happy that they didn't do a crazy menu because it was V-day... We get there and get seated right away. It was pretty empty at 5:45. We ordered drinks which were yummy, but not very strong. Got their Trio Cebiche ($21) and they came in shot glasses! For $7 a shot, feels pretty pricey. But it was good, so not going to get all crazy. Got our main course rib eye (med rare, came out well done) and paella (I've only had paella once before here and it was delicious. Rice was cooked and at the bottom it was nice and crunchy. Seafood was cooked perfectly. Here, the paella was pretty wet at the bottom and the shrimp was overcooked. The only thing cooked nicely was the scallops) we were don't eating by 6:40 but didn't get our check until 7:20... Things got busy, our waitress who seems nice was just so busy that she didn't really care. She'd ask a question and start walking away as we answer... Or like was not really there when we were talking to her (maybe thinking about how busy it was ‍) Overall, food wasn't the great. Very mediocre. Drinks were expensive and not strong. Staff was nice, but waitress maybe overwhelmed? Next time, I'm going to take hubby up on his offer of him cooking me dinner. Hah.

Malbec is an Argentinian restaurant in Santa Monica. Knowing Artgentines, I expected a robustly tasty dinner for my family on Valentine's Day. I was disappointed. I ordered the NY Steak. It came to us hot and beautiful, a perfect crust, and perfectly medium as I asked. The first sign of trouble was that it was tough to cut. I wondered why my 10 dollar Costco prime steak cut like butter when I cook it, and this required some sawing. Well, It still looked gorgeous, so I took a bite, and was 100% underwhelmed. Where was the flavor? Was it seasoned in blandness? I shared with the family and sure enough all 4 of us were wondering if we should throw some salt on it since the cook didn't. Luckily it came with some sauces so I did that. Marginally improved. The paella had a great flavor. Very nice. Super good. Kids ordered empanadas. At 1/4 the price of the NY steak these delivered. Super flavor. The avocado, tomato and onion salad was nothing to write home about. Just boring veggies. I was expecting some vinegar or other flavoring, and was left wishing for something else. Deserts were great. The french fries were a real winner. I'm not sure that french fries being a winner is a winner, but that's something they do well. My wife would not let me tell the waiter what I thought about the food. So, I behaved. Luckily my dinner company was 100% excellent. Lovely setting, wife said sangria was great. I don't have any desire to try again, but if I do go I'll avoid their steak.

I go to this superb restaurant once a month as I like the good air that is part of this restaurant. The team is highly friendly and professional. The service is awfully quick. Not to mention, the food you get is magnificent. I came often and I was always joyful. The price is fair. I recommend this restaurant to to all.

The food was fantastic. The price was fair. The reason why I am giving it one star and why I am upset is we ordered a lot of food and we wanted to take the rest home. They boxed our 4 leftovers in one box & it was mixed like slop. It was & is disgusting. Had to throw it out. I hope the manager will explain. The owner contacted me and will speak to everyone. Mistakes happen. As long as they are fixed I have no issues. Food 5 stars Owner 5 Ambiance.

Omg. I can't say enough good things. Red sangria, the tenderloin steak wrapped in bacon, the avocado tomato salad, the dulce de leche crepes ... all so very awesome. We randomly went here and were super pLeasantly surprised. Good atmosphere and service as well.

Malbec is one of those fancy restaurants that doesn't lean to hard into its own pretentiousness. More importantly the food is damn good. We got a little early and had some drinks at the bar and were seated promptly at our reservation time. As for the food - do yourself a favor and order the ceviche. I typically dislike ceviche but after having it here, I realized I've just had BAD ceviche my whole life. For my main I got the arroz con mariscos and was not disappointed. The dish came out steaming hot and sure tasted fresh. The careful balance of flavors make sure that one element of the paella isn't overwhelmed by the other elements. I would absolutely recommend. I knocked off a star because the service was a little cold. Otherwise, I would recommend and will try to come back!

Overpriced for what you get. The steak was nothing special. Very Outback Steakhouse like in quality. The chimichurri was great, though.
