Great service, friendly staff, and most importantly incredible food! They were also really accommodating of my gluten allergy and explained all the gluten free modifications. We love this local spot!

Delicious! Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. I got the seaweed salad and spicy tuna crunch roll. The service was great. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food came out quickly. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable. I will be back!

I had such an awesome experience! You can simply press a button on the side of your table to call a server—super convenient! The tuna rolls and tuna sashimi are absolutely delicious; anything with tuna is a must-try! Overall, it's a fantastic restaurant!

This place is very underrated. I highly recommend. The rolls are ? Try the avocado bomb! Seating inside and outside, servers are very respectful, and it's never crowded. 10/10

TERRIBLE!
I’ve finally visited this place recently since it is right by my workplace. I am never planning to come back. Unfortunately.

I had salmon sushi and a Philly roll. Salmon sushi came out looking good but after I put it in my mouth, I immediately felt an insanely fishy smell. Even tho the server told me that salmon was delivered this morning, I know for a fact, that fresh salmon doesn’t smell like this. I love sushi and eat it almost every week and sometimes buy a sushi grade salmon to make sashimi at home. It NEVER smells like this.

When the Philly roll came out, I HAD to smell it. It smelled like a dirty moldy rug you clean industrial tables with. Probably from them cleaning cutting boards with it. If you know this smell you know.

The server took it back to the chef so he could smell it I guess. But apparently it smelled absolutely normal for him. They just offered me to get something else. No discount, nothing.

If I get sick, I know for a fact whom to blame for it. But beware guys!
I guess their rent in Santa Monica is so high that they can’t afford fresh fish or cleaning supplies.

Great food! Great looking place, love the hanging flowers! Great pricing I went full hog ended up getting 3 rolls, a side, drink, and dessert! I only wish I had a larger stomach to try the other items.

Miss soup: nice simple starter to get in the mood
Strawberry black tea: black tea with strawberry flavoring added. When I found out it was a syrup I was a bit hesitant but it wasn't super sweet as I feared and was really good
The Yummy roll: so on point! Perfection
Salmon + spicy salmon rolls: beautifully simple and they didn't use chopped up salmon mash on the spicy one, full pieces
Matcha mochi: beautiful end to a wonderful meal

Idk if someone asked for the music to be turned up but half way through my meal the music became louder and I was forced to listen to the almost jazzy bad knock off of great classic songs. They ruined hakuna matata so badly!

Also they took away my drink before I was done w it and I didnt notice until it was too late :(

Finally. The food didn't sit well and I had a VERY upset stomach about 2 hrs later but it was totally worth it. Also, I'm not completely convinced it was due to the food, just mentioning as a cautionary tale.

Had dinner on their outdoor patio. I love that I could bring my dog. The staff was really friendly. I had a bento box and it was excellent and I thought their price was very fair. I plan on going back again tonight!

Food is great for what you pay! Big portions and pretty good. If you’re really hungry get a bento box. Love the Japanese decor inside and on the patio although it may seem a little kitschy haha but it adds character to a spot that could be very touristy given the location. Great addition to the neighborhood and I know I’ll be ordering takeout or dining in often here

Just deleted my good review from my first visit. I was here 2 times. First time I was impressed, the fish was surprisingly good.

Today it was the opposite. The tuna and salmon sushi was for whatever reason swimming in some sauce… the rice and fish was completely soaked and the cuts were super thick. As someone who eats a lot of sushi, that was one of the worst sushi dishes I’ve ever had.

When the server asked if I like it, I was honest. That I could not eat it. They did not offer to fix it and also did not offer a discount or anything.

The quality apparently strongly depends on the sushi chef. But the way they deal with customer feedback is a different story.

So please: Do NOT go to this place.

Food was absolutely delicious. They have very good sushi here especially the Sushi Combination that comes with a roll. Service was very good the guy server was fast and helped us out with the menu. Overall 10/10 must try !!

We stopped by chance for dinner, and what a nice surprise. It was delicious, watch out for the vegetarian ramen which lacked a little spice for my taste. The setting is very pretty, and the staff friendly.
