This was the worst dining experience in a Michelin star restaurant! I don’t know how they have any stars at all! The bill came to $1200 for 2 persons Only one glass of wine for $90 Every course was so disappointing! The only tasty dish was the Wagyu beef which was an additional $125 I won’t be returning or recommending! Melisse used to be great… It was a major disappointment! There was no tablecloth on the table and the room was so bright- terrible ambiance!

Despite its Michelin two-star status, the atmosphere was refreshingly relaxed and welcoming. The vibe felt more like an intimate dinner party with friends than a formal fine-dining room. Vinyl records played throughout the evening and shifted seamlessly as the courses progressed, adding a thoughtful, personal touch. The lighting was perfectly set, warm, soft, and inviting. The service was exceptional. Every member of the wait and chef team was kind, attentive, and genuinely accommodating. Used glassware and dishware were removed smoothly and promptly, replaced with pristine settings in preparation for each new course. The level of attention to detail was remarkable without ever feeling intrusive. As for the food it was absolutely exquisite. Every dish was a standout, and there wasn't a single course we didn't enjoy. The flavors were innovative yet familiar, elevating each dish into the best version of itself. The wine pairing complemented the menu beautifully and enhanced the overall experience. Mélisse delivered an evening that felt special, intentional, and celebratory in every way. Highly recommend and think it's worth every penny and a perfect choice for a meaningful occasion.

We've been to many high end restaurants including Michelin 3 star. We've never had a better experience than we had at Melisse. Every course was delicious. Service was impeccable. The ambience with the music playing from the phonograph and watching our dinner being prepared in front of us was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It's wonderful that this level of artistry can be found and enjoyed.

I cannot stomach 3D printed food! It doesn’t taste right & does not agree with my digestive system. Such a lazy way to do business. Very pretentious atmosphere with lack luster results. Not impressed, so many great restaurants with REAL farm to table food. Can we make Farm to table a trend again please & end this dystopian Wall-E world pellet eating vibe we are beginning to turn into?

Best meal ever! Each dish was perfectly assembled and the various textures and flavors worked together harmoniously. The staff were all delightful to talk to, and we enjoyed watching the precision of the kitchen. Chef Ken Takayama came over a couple times, and we learned about the Californian sourcing of ingredients. We enjoyed how small the restaurant is and the focused attention we received. What an amazing evening!
