My partner and I ordered take out here and they forgot an item. We called and they said they would have the manager call and refund the missing item the next day, they never called. Several calls later, we still haven't gotten the refund.

The food was not as good as the pictures or their looks. We had the bread which was good. But then came the salad and the pizza. The salad had very little sauce, and its small portion made it good as a small side. At that price, you’d expect something better. The taste was also not unique. Like any salad you can easily make at home. The pizza was also saggy and leathery. It also was a little bit too oily for my taste.

The atmosphere is really great. The service was also good. We had to wait for ~15 minutes until they can set up a table, even though we had a reservation for that exact time (there were several empty tables so I don’t know why it took so long). We had to stay standing throughout the wait which wasn’t the best.

We were treated here by one of my rich friends and honestly, that’s probably the only scenario where a place like this makes sense for treating the whole family out. My family has a very high bar for food. People say I’m picky, and I’m like, “Please… meet my mother.”

Service-wise, this place is flawless. The staff is charming, attentive, and somehow manages to make you feel both fancy and comfortable at the same time.

Since it’s family style, we shared practically everything and with a party of seven, those plates add up fast. By the time the table was full, the bill was basically giving luxury vacation energy.

Out of everything we tried, the Radiatori Braised Beef Ragu was the clear standout. Rich, comforting, and the kind of pasta that shuts everyone up at the table for a minute.

The Garlic Knot bread was good, though we weren’t big on the pieces with the garlic ends. After some research (and by research, I mean a heated family debate followed by frantic Googling), we realized that’s a pretty common thing in restaurants — just not our personal preference. Oh and the drinks were on point :)

Overall, a lovely, polished meal… definitely best enjoyed when someone else is picking up the tab.

I have been searching for a classic cinnamon roll in Santa Monica for so long- and I can finally say this is it! I think it’s only served on their brunch menu on the weekends, but the skillet cinnamon roll is everything a classic cinnamon roll should be- fluffy, heavy cinnamon, and a classic cream cheese icing- perfection! Only complaint is it’s a little pricey, but what isn’t on the westside 😅

I don't eat here anymore, this place belongs to the past, the life is gone.
I stopped by to get a matcha latte. 3 stars are for high quality of hot milk I got. The drink was almost white. Like I said earlier everything I knew about this restaurant was true.

Amazing staff, drinks and food! The garlic knot was absolutely amazing. The extra sauce and cloves go great on the pizza as well.

Garlic knots here are addicting. Their pizza crust is next level. One of the best Italian restaurants on the Westside.

The food was OUTSTANDING- but that’s not even the best thing about this place. My husband and I sat at the counter and got to watch the chefs make their dishes. It felt like being inside of a beehive- everyone worked so diligently and as a team. The head chef (I think 🤔- never worked in the food industry so I’m making an assumption) made sure things were getting done and I just kept hearing “thank you chef” every time an order came up. It was an INCREDIBLE experience and I could have watched it all night. Super impressive! Hats off to the entire staff there! I’ll be sure to come back next time I’m in town. Also, The added 4% to the bill for the health insurance for the employees…. I was more than happy to pay that. Hard-working people deserve insurance and I would never have a problem making sure that your people are taken care of.

The food was ok but our table was sticky and dirty with leftovers from previous customers (like a sauce or something) also they charge 4% for a health fee for their employees. I don’t know if this normal in LA but I found it odd

Aesthetics were nice, food looked interesting on the menu but was very average. We tried a salad on the specials menu and 2 pizzas. The hot honey pizza was swampy and overly sweet. The margarita pizza was bland. The salad was the best thing that we had.

The experience had its highs, but this place left me with a few raised eyebrows. The food was good—fresh, and bursting with flavor. The pizza, in particular, was excellent.

However, the portion sizes were on the small side—delicious bites, sure, but I left feeling like I’d need a snack soon after, or more like they were snack portion.

Now, onto the surprises. This was my first restaurant encounter where chili oil came with a $3 charge. I was genuinely taken aback when I saw that little fee tacked on—chili oil as a premium add-on and that too without any mention of it when I ordered? It felt like a quirky first for me!

Another notable was the 4% healthcare surcharge slipped onto the bill. I’m all for supporting employee healthcare—kudos to Milo & Olive for providing it, and honestly, every restaurant and employer should follow suit. But why present it as a surcharge? It’s a bit irritating. If the costs are real, have the confidence to bake them into the menu price or, better yet, let the owner take a slight dip in profits. Tagging it on as a separate line item is a sneaky nudge rather than a bold stand.

Overall, the food’s a win, but those unexpected fees dampened the vibe. More like 3 out of 5 stars.

Milo & Olive has become one of our favorite go-to spots in Santa Monica for simple, delicious Italian food. The menu is straightforward but consistently tasty, and the quality keeps us coming back.

Our must-haves every single visit are the chopped salad and the baked garlic knot—both are absolute standouts and set the tone for the meal. The mushroom pizza is hands-down our favorite and usually our order, but on our most recent trip we decided to branch out and try the vegetable pizza. It was still good, though we felt it could have used just a touch more flavor compared to the mushroom. The pastas are always solid as well—fresh, comforting, and flavorful.

The service here is consistently good, and the staff make the experience feel easy and welcoming. The space itself has a nice, relaxed vibe, perfect for casual dinners with friends or family. You can’t go wrong coming here any day of the week. Prices are on the higher side, but not crazy.

Overall, Milo & Olive never disappoints. Even with a few minor preferences, it’s a place we’ll keep coming back to time and again. Highly recommend!

If I could give zero stars for the service here, I would. 4 simple orders and Stephanie seemed capable enough. Yet 3 of the meals came out wrong - and not just slightly off - but a completely different menu item. When we ordered, we repeatedly noted my daughter's dairy allergy. Of course her pasta came out covered in Parmesan. When the runner brought out my food, it too was entirely incorrect. Then the pizza that came out was a completely different menu item. By the time the last pizza was remade, which was well over an hour after we had gotten there, my kids were spent. The manager came by to apologize for the delay. When we went to confirm what we had ordered, he again confirmed the wrong order - saying what had come out initially instead of what we actually ordered. He also said he'd take it off the bill but never did. Paid the full bill because I was just done and wanted to get out of this place. Overpriced and underwhelmed, this place is a colossal disaster.
